I thought you all might enjoy seeing some photos of Old Orchard Beach, ME's beach today. It has 7 miles of sandy beach and for our rocky coast, that is wonderful. Here is Maxi w/ his boogie board after getting totally trashed by the surf. It was actually too rough for boogie-ing, so he ditched it and went in alone. Here is me. Warning! This next photo may be a little bit disorienting for all you West Coast Beach Goers who are used to having the beach on the left when facing North. But this is actually the view here facing South! more in next post....
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Great memorable pictures, Merme!
I was supposed to go to the beach this past Friday up in Connecticut - first time in 2 years, but it rained the entire day. I do have a raincheck though, so hopefully I will make it to a beach at least once this summer.

Looking North, w/ the ocean on the right.... From where we were standing, we were facing the center of the tourists up the beach, an area known as The Pier. Looking South.... And the pretty, stormy surf... and Maxi in the middle.

Great pics.. ..it's a shame, I live so close to the beach yet just don't care for it, never did. Mind you as a child I lived at the local river. I know I'm strange

Love the pics! Our coast isn't as nice. Oregon and California are have a much nicer coast than Washington does. I've only been in the Atlantic once and I barely remember it. Boogie boarding looks like fun!

Cheryl boogie boarding IS a great deal of fun. Here is another picture of Maxi from today showing his boogie board more clearly and it's open-mouthed shark! Snow you should come to Maine -- and meet Angel & Scott & I. But come in summer so you can enjoy the sun & the surf. True, that would mess up snowmobliling plans, but, it would still be worthwhile! Yes Carol, nothing like the beach to make people happy! Tam I've met others who don't like the beach. That it a tough concept for me to understand because I have Beach Bummery way down in my soul.

That makes me feel so sad...we take so much for granted when it's in our own backyard (to speak). Merme, it's the feel of the sand that creeps me out and the not being able to see through the water.. When we went to Prince Edward Island last year..I was worried they'd want to see the 'red floor'..thankfully we just bought pictures I just love the look on Maxi's face in the last pic...all mothers have seen that one before.."it's the just take the pic and get it over with" look.
