Good morning. It is taking me forever to wake up this morning. I think it is the sun rising later that has me so sleepy still.

Wow, I've been whomped; another very busy day! And, it is 87 degrees out there! yikes When I got home after running around for several hours w/ no a/c, I had to get wet & get in front of the fan. Now I have a headache.

We did order Maxi's school shirts, though. I just ordered three to get him started; I'll order more next month. They are pricey but they do come in 5 colors and two sleeve lengths.

Now I need a nap!

Sorry I missed you, Carol!

I had a nap & feel better now though I still have a slight headache. Time to break out the Tylenol.

Thursday when I am down in Kennebunk, I am stopping by DMV to get an updated state ID. I never look at mine and rarely use it for anything. Today a banker asked to see my ID and I was embarrassed. It is very outdated in terms of my photo and the address on it was two houses ago! yikes

Now that it is cooling off and is down to 81 degrees, Maxi and I are going to start on his homework. Our time to work on it is limited because he goes to camp on the 17th and I go to the hospital on the 24th. I am going to help a bit because he didn't get the assignment until a few weeks after he read both books. He really should have been given it before he read anything. Now he has to write chapter surveys for both books. He is going to scan the chapters and start writing and I will go behind him scanning the second time.

But first, I need coffee!

lol

WOW you are a busy person, merme.

not to nose into your business, but why not wait until you make this next move before you change your ID card ?? Mkaes perfect sense to me... kissie

so sorry to hear about the homework assignment being all messed up. Sounds as if the same thing is required every summer so unless you are an incoming freshman you know what is required. BUT You would like to believe that the freshmen would be apprised of this in a timely manner wouldn't you???

you are being a good momma to help him.

I need an updated ID w/ my current address, Carol, for business reasons, unfortunately!

I just checked on-line to get a copy of my birth certificate from NY state... it will be $60 for one crumby copy!!! yikes

With all the new National Security laws, everybody is demanding valid birth certificate copies like never before.

I've been getting Federal help with my housing for 13 years and now, all of a sudden, I have to produce a birth certificate! It is crazy.

Yes, it is a ton of money, Carol!

Tonight Maxi & I mixed up some cake mix and we poured the batter into empty ice cream cones & baked them that way. When they cooled, we frosted them & decorated them to look like fancy ice cream cones. That was fun. We were practicing the recipe because we want to do it for Sunday School.

I also like to fill ice cream cones w/ jello & fruit pieces. It is refreshing but not too heavy, like ice cream can be.

The folks in my family would like it better if I only filled the cones halfway with the cake batter and left room for ice cream on top! lol But where would I put the frosting?!

Did y'all know Bruce Willis also had/has a singing career? I didn't know that and I really like some of his movies! So tonight I was looking up a few things on YouTube & found a performance of him & The Temptations singing Under The Boardwalk and then I found a video he'd made of Save The Last Dance. Who knew? why

I think I used to know that about bruce Willis but it had slipped my mind.--thanks for the reminder.

about eh ice cream--cake cones. put a little less cake in and then frost the cones anyway. When you are ready to eat, there will stil be enough room for icecream on top, right???
YUM !! now yo uare really making me hungry!!!!

3:38am
< so I have not been to sleep yet. OH< I went to bed, and I even laid there for a good while. BUT, with all the aches & pains I have these days I do not fall asleep too redily. Then I read more of my book. Print too faint & too small.--no really. a bit smaller than is usual in a regular sized hard bound book.--But oh well. When I finally do go to sleep I imagine I will be asleep until well into the afternoon.--So much for working on my friends landscaping ideas in the day tomorrow/today... why

DH will be up in a few minutes and then I will try to go back to sleep. If I would go in now, and I woke him up, he would miss the last few minutes of sleep--& I know I hate it, so I assume he would too...so here I sit. thumbup

Good morning, only got about an hour of sleep last night. Madisson thinks she's going to sleep in someones arms all night..I love cuddling her but it's a habit that has to be broke before I go home..sleepy time is crib time.

DD has to upload the pics today, sorry for the wait but as you know...we are SO BUSY zoink They only released DD to go home at 6 pm last night instead of 10 am like it was supposed to be, so by the time we got in and got things in order there was no time for anything else.

Calling today to make an appointment to take baby for pics at the photographers..they don't take the 'hospital pics' here anymore.

breakfast ..lots please, refill my cup lol

Good Morning ,
I am up early when I thought I would probably sleep in till my appt time..(Nails) had a rough night- all hit me and I just fell apart... poor Joe doesn't know what to do when that happens cause it usually doesn't... I am to much a control freak... well lets just say I feel much better now...
I think copies of birth cert are 15 here now... they were 10 in AZ when we ordered kids but that was a long time ago... I know you can do it online now ..

I worked on bills this morning and figured out I am more in debt now than I had planned on- oh well American way right... it will pay off a little slower than I had hoped but will happen... just hope nothing else hits my budget now...

Tamara babies to like to sleep nice and cozy in your arms... I always used a heating pad on low in crib and took it out before I put baby in.. nice warm spot and seemed to work for us...can't hurt to try...

Well need to go find some breakfast- can't have coffee my pot broke in dishwasher so that is on the agenda today to replace... gotta have my coffee... will settle for tea today I guess...

Merme don't work to hard on all this stuff... do hope you are able to find a good place to move too soon though...
Have a good day all..will try an get back today-got lots of accomplish though-- still haven't unpacked all the way and put stuff away...
Nana

Good morning everyone !!! wavy

Tamara: I dont suppose anyone has a bassinet that you could borrow??
we used that when my oldest was first home. Then there is the fact that in the hospital the beds (isolets really) could be elevated at the head & our Valarie got used to that & would not sleep with out it--sooooo... we either set her in her pumpkin seat which we then put in the bassinet or we rolled up a towel & placed it under the mattress so the head area was raised. she really liked that & until she begins rolling around in bed it worked like a charm. I dont know whether it would be safe when they begin to roll around.
\
it also worked in the crib. I used to do that when she was sick & needed to have her head raised so her haed & nose would drian eassier. I got more sleep that way.

Nana it iwll bget easier day by day--& remember we are here to talk if/when needed.

merme---iake each day and go with it--I know this is a busy time but this will eventually all get accomplished.

Well, I always figure that a baby has been in the belly for many months so of course baby is going to like being held! And I figure that you generally don't see a 20 year old sleeping in mom's arms, so they do outgrow it eventually. lol

I'm just a big believer in everybody getting a good night's sleep. If baby is having a rough night because of not wanting to be alone & mom & dad are having a rough night because of baby's rough night, it only makes sense to put baby where she is happy so that the whole family can sleep.

But then, Maxi's dad and I took turns holding him upright round the clock for six weeks so he wouldn't have to have that surgery to correct reflux which he was born with. We were buying him time to allow that valve to mature. Fortunately, Edward & I were on different schedules in those days, so he would sit up at night and let the baby sleep on his chest and I took over in the day. We could put him down but never flat down.

I was really glad when he got into his little bassinet I kept by my bed! lol
That felt like a very long six weeks!

so I'm home from dialysis & had a small snack. Maxi will throw some burgers on the grill for our dinner.

Tamara, I see that you posted pictures but I can't see them at work. Phooey. New babies are a lot of work. It seems we forget that between each one. You're a good person to help out.

I just got back from seeing my back specialist whom I haven't seen in nearly a year. I am delighted to report that right now I am pain free for the first time in about 8 months! I feel great!!

He is a miracle worker, he is.

We stopped at the grocery I adore but never have a chance to shop in, and bought things for lunch. We bought things from the deli and came home and made wraps. YUMMY!

We have to continue our homework efforts today and hope to cover between 4 to 6 chapters -- that is a lot of writing. I told Maxi he can't go on his sleepover until the day's allotment is complete, so we better get to it!

Maxi harvested 3 string beans and a tomato today.

You'll be caught up before you know it, Tam. I'm wondering how your husband is making out without you there? When do you head for home?

We finished as much of Maxi's homework as we can for today. That is a mighty huge assignment which really should have been given out earlier.

He is going to a sleepover soon & I'll be alone for the night. The house always feels too empty when he is gone.

G'morning

I got up early to help my DH take Thor & Luna (We are puppy sitting for our DD this weekend) out to potty. So here I sit because I have not gone back to sleep yet. I have fed the 3 of my furry friends as well.

When we were out with the puppies we looked for what was supposed to be a meteor shower. We saw nothing. why

Today is grocery shopping & some bill paying. Such an exciting life I live.......

Good morning..Have fun with your grand-puppies Carol. The meteor shower passed here..30 per hour they estimate, more trails though then fireballs. I was too tired to stay up.

Merme, he is doing o.k. he says...apparently he and my mother cut my grass yesterday lol Preparing for my return on Saturday. I'd love to stay longer but I am getting to attached to baby and it'll be harder to leave the longer I stay. Sis-in-law is coming tomorrow for a visit..I'll just hitch a ride back with her.

Taking the baby today to WalMart to get baby pics taken, they no longer take 'hospital pics' here...and with WalMart I can order a small package and family can go online to re order their own..apparently some are not pleased that I am not buying large pictures for everyone, at $20 a sheet..uh, NOT.

It's gonna be sad to leave the baby but I also need to get home...I am starting to feel sick again. I need some rest and routine.

I am thinking that your DH will be happy to see you at home once again.
But at least your grass will be cut.
That should give you some breathing room to get the house back into proper order, right???

But on the other hand, I bet that Julie will be calling her momma a lot.

But then that is what moms are for, huh????

Good morning to you , too!!

Yup, I'm sure the calls will be often lol

I hope my house isn't in too bad of shape...oh well, could be worse, at least the grass is cut. Although they did save the ditch for me to do..how thoughtful haha

As much as I love DD and Baby..it still has been a long two weeks.

Gee how "thoughtful" of them to have left you the "best" part of the yard to cut. lol rolz

I am hoping that your house will not be in too bad a shape. aside from, a good cleaning how much mess could 1 man make in a few weeks time???

IT will be good for you to get back to tend to the garden though.
