I planted these in a basket in spring; they did quite well over the summer, stopped for a while, then came back blooming again this week.

I googled to see how they might over-winter in the ground here in Toronto; doesn't look good - 32 F. I suppose that's the minimum that will hold them.

I tend to believe it, 'cause I tried it a couple years ago and they didn't come back.

So whaddya' think? Should I chance it? Hope for a mild winter?

Should I bring them indoors? Or maybe save the flowers, dry them, and crumble them for the seed?

Hate to think of these pretties going to waste.

I think they will return if you plant them in the soil.
Ours are invasive here. We got 4 ft of snow last winter an they came back..

can you put them in a warmer spot, cool but warm, and cover them until spring?

I dunno' . . . remember, this is Toronto, Canada I'm talking about. Don't know if we get colder than Pennsylvania.

Maybe I should do half of them in the ground and half in a pot indoors.

Thanks, Dodge & Bestofour, for your quick replies. I'll return later - don't seem to have the time for hanging around at forums like I used to.
