Oh dear, pampas grass can become such a scourge!

On the west coast it escaped ornamental plantings decades ago and is now crowding out native plants. It literally kills everything in its path and is extremely difficult to remove. I doubt this applies to harsher climes, but I thought I'd just share my experience from living much of my life on the No. CA coast.
