well--gee--I guess I ave to go check out my FB account & see if there is a new group to join, huh???--U all n=know--the I hate Wal-mart one???"

Nana you sure are a hard worker--
although I will tell you waht I told my MIL, who was always scrubbing her carpets.
If you once scrub them dont you worry that you will scrub out the factory applied scotch guard & then subsequently you will be scrubing them all the time afterwards???
That is my thought, so I will not ever scrub my carpets---
I just try to keep them really well vacuumed. That and I have a lot of rugs down in the high traffic areas that I can take up & wash when I see a need.

and I guess I need to go to sleep now--it is getting late.

nite nite---

apple pie--YUM!!!--but what a coincidence !!
Rod brought me about 15 pounds of apples from a guy at work. He says they are kinda tart & he would like a pie. so if I do not fall asleep, I will make him a pie for supper this afternoon. Then with the rest I think I will try making some applesauce.
I only have the 1 meal of sauce put up so far this year, & we love home made applesauce. So I think I will try to make more.

I was up but on the phone.

Finally got all DD's paperwork and was supposed to go file today..but as you know our truck is at the shop and the rental they gave ends up being a 'bench seat only' truck(meaning I can't put the baby's car seat in because of the air bags) so I was calling everywhere to try get someone we trust to watch Madisson only to have DH's 'ride to work' call and say he's not going in today so DH needed the vehicle anyway, and so today it starts like this cry

Still raining..have no clue what the plans are for today.

I lost my apples...they fell from the tree, no one picked them up and the skunks had a field day.

I am going to call my neighbor tomorrow to get some from hers, her tree is still holding a lot. I want to make jelly.

My poor preserve cupboard is bare this year(only strawberry jam and jelly so far).

Oh yes, no problem with sharing here...I just always ask first.

Sad part is I had so many preserves last year that I started giving a lot away this summer so I'd have room and bottles for the new. rolz

So what's the plans for today Carol?

I did get string beans blanched, frozen & bagged up. I plan to make applesauce as well. I just couldn't get a ride to the blueberry bushes this year and that was too bad. I like a well stocked pantry! It makes me feel happy!

Hope you can sell a cow & calf soon, Tam.

I am so tired this morning, I wish it were Friday! I think it may be partially my mid-week dialysis blues I fall into at times. It is just a hard process to go through so incessantly! Whine whine whine. Quick! lemme have some cheese 'n crackers to go with! lol

Maxi forgot his lunch box today! He's going to have to buy lunch now. Too bad, too, because I packed him a very nice, fresh lunch.

Gotta go get my shower.

Morning,
No Tina I think I am done with carpet cleaning for at least a yr,it's a lot of work... especially with stairs to contend with, rug doctors are heavy!Carol I don't worry about the scotchguard . when we got carpet we chose the kind that is built in it, they told me as long as I only cleaned it once a yr so so would be fine... and with boys here it gets dirty! I have area rugs too, looking for more now .. got rid of some when Mom lived with me, so need to replace then, they were a safety hazard cause she couldn't pick up her feet very well, I need a couple bath rugs too..
Well I need to go dust the family room and so the windows so better get busy...

Have a fun day all...I haven't been to a zoo in 20 years.

We removed all the rugs/carpet(what we call rugs, you call carpet) from our home, it was nice but too hard to maintain with the kids I used to watch. Thought about getting new ones in a year or so but Madisson turned that idea around on me lol

Cookies made, bread rising and spaghetti sauce bubbling away, it's been a productive morning so far. The rain is a straight down pour.

Cookies and bread and spaghetti sound divine, Tamara. I must be getting hungry. I am trying to eat some of the food out of the back of my freezers and pantry. And save some money while I'm at it. It is working out pretty well.

I am trying to mix it up as far as what we eat and how often. Most of mine is just me eating. Jonni does her own thing mostly. When I get down to eating steaks and lobsters, I'll know it is coming to an end.

My problem is I don't like chicken legs but keep buying them for DH, I have bags of them that have to be cooked up. Thinking of boiling them then just cutting up the meat to re-freeze for other dishes. That way I can save the bouillon liquid for gravies and rice also.

Tam I understand entirely. I do boil some and save the broth but I also roast some in the oven to give them a richer flavor. Then I also save the drippings because it makes great gravy & sauces. And you are so right: once you have the meat cooked & set aside, you can have it on hand for hundreds of dishes. It makes for a fast supper when time is short!

Dinner tonight was exceptionally good. The rue went together quickly & I used vegetable broth as the base for the cheese sauce. It was very smooth and had a nice flavor that went well with the shrimp.

Leftovers! thumbup

It is supposed to only be 40 tomorrow morning. br-r-r-r-! The summer faded fast after Earl blew through here.

Today I found a long-lost cousin I've been trying to find for years. I didn't know her married name & that makes it harder. We are two weeks apart in age (I'm older) & she was teasing me a bit about that, as always. What startled me, though, is what an attractive woman she has become in her maturity. She reminds me very much of her mother who was always lovely. Tall, slender, blonde, and very well put together. So that was a treat.

Tomorrow I'm baking a small cake for my birthday. Maxi would be sad if we didn't have at least a little something.

I'm a little exhausted. I went to petsmart with my mom and her friend to buy some food for our cats and dogs. Afterwards we went to del taco for lunch. They were selling tacos for 39 cents so I think they were pretty desperate for our business. Then we went to wal mart where I got a new rake, some weed killer and malathion, some granular fertilizer, and some pea seeds with twenty bucks I was saving for that purpose. Now I'm out of money.

I have to go look in my freezer and search for stuff that's been in there for months. There's lots of pork and chicken in there so next week dinner's going to be pork chops and chicken.

I'm going to do some gardening for a bit.

So sorry you are in a funk, Cindy. They can be so hard to shake & I do not envy you that.

Carol perhaps you will sleep tonight.
