Bestofour was reading but not posting much
Lynne, most probably, was knitting her fingers off
Maxi was in Homework zone

Good afternoon Merme

It's another slow weekend for me. I've got cleaning to do. Afterwards I will go out in the garden and pull out weeds. The leaf lettuce has sprouted and so have the weeds. Gardening is a never-ending battle against the weeds. I might go fishing today. Last week I caught a couple of tiny catfish. Hopefully I'll catch some bigger fish.

Hi Enrique! yes, weeds can be so irksome!

YEP I was , while I was sitting in the hospital visiting with mom, and "breaking the fast" with my dad, sister, and her boyfriend.

And Merme I had all 4 grands and oldest ones girlfriend and the dog here for a couple hours ... and dd and her hubby too while their landlord showed the house to prospective renters... Jon didn't feel well and he stayed with boys she and I went to Soup and Salad for lunch... was really good and nice to go out... and stayed on my diet too.
My son and his family are coming over tomorrow.. we will have a bbq , he is bringing our truck back- have to have it emissioned and get the tags for it.. he has been using it most of the summer... it's not 4 wheel drive though so he can't use it in the winter- it sits most of winter in the driveway ... Joe got it new yrs ago.. loves the silly thing..
Well better get myself to bed.. got laundry to do tomorrow and some cooking to do...

Morning. Gotta get ready for work. Need coffee. I did pamper myself yesterday. I've got blood red fingernails and metallic green toenails. Didn't finish my book but it was nice enough that I sat outside and read for a bit. Short day at work today because I'm going to a Cirque du Soleil show!

Hello again everyone, we are such busy bees aren't we?

DD's birthday tomorrow so we are having supper at my moms to celebrate today while DH has the day off. Picked up a yummy Oreo cake for her..hope she shares Ya, I'm all about the cake.

Mmmm, Oreo. I am laminating today. Takes a while but I don't mind it. I had a banana, kiwi, and scrambled eggs for breakfast. It's too early to think about lunch but it's about time for my yogurt. I'm going to sneak a short run in at work before lunchtime. After lunch I get to play receptionist then it's off to my moms.

Maxi and I had a short outing. We went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch to celebrate my birthday and then we did a quick run through a Big Lots discount store where we had never shopped before. Maxi got a new shovel & I got us socks.

It was a pretty day out there and my new girl is very nice.

Mer me so glad your girl is working out.

I had a nice day---got some things done that I had on the agenda for tomorrow so that is good.

Now I am washing clothes to get a jump on tomorows chores

Yes we also are all ready for the start of another week. I may run the dishwasher tonight if I can scoop up some energy to finish loading it.

Maxi was very quiet tonight, reading.

It was a beautiful day here also though it never got above 60. They have put out an alert for coastal flooding but we are up on a hill and don't have to worry.

Morning! br-r-r-r! It is a chill 53 today. I hope it warms with the sunrise! I started cookin' up a storm, rattling those pots and pans, just to get some heat going in this place. It will be cozy when Maxi gets up & showers for school.

I slept so badly last night, waking up every 2 hours half-dreaming, half-thinking too much. SIGH. Mega-SIGH.

Merme, I'm with you on the bad sleep..worst one I had in years last night. Too much food too late I'm thinking, good gosh I even dreamed I had to learn to tango for school...

Well, today I have to try arrange for someone in the family to use my loaner truck to take me into town...paperwork extension for DD ends today. All because I forgot my license in the other truck...which apparently I might only be getting back at the end of this week.

Had a good evening at my mom's with DD...she turns 20 today.

Maxi was giving me fits this morning. Oh, not because he was being bad or anything, but just because he can be so all-fired STUBBORN! Gee, I wonder where he gets it from?

Hi Merme, the thing is they just keep finding more paperwork for me to get. DD will soon be home a month and has gotten no help from any department yet...I made the final call last Friday, if she gets nothing by this Friday...I am taking her and the baby to a Women's shelter, they can't deny her then Such a shame that it will come to that but I have to do what it takes.

Sorry I got distracted!

I bought new food storage containers over the weekend for staples & was filling them & labelling them. Now they are all neatly stacked in the cupboard, making me very happy indeed. YAY for new storage!

They are forecasting a frost here tomorrow morning. I wonder if that is possible so early?!

You are getting chilly Merme and we are up to the 90's still- setting records .. crazy weather... but nice too... if it only didn't make the fire danger so high... woke up to the smell of smoke at 5:30 this morning.. don't know where it's coming from - no new fires close to us so guess it's coming from a ways away..
We had a nice visit with our son and his family yesterday evening... cooked some brats and had tater salad and baked beans... was fun watching the boys play.. they have come a long way and are even communicating more now that they are in school...
Well got to finish getting my guest room ready... and run the vacuum again- boys managed to bring in a bunch of dirt from the yard last night... then have to hit the grocery store for food for snacks for the boys this week.. they ate me our of the stuff I though would last ... must be going to grow again..
Carrie and Jon have been packing like crazy- the landlord managed to rent the house again- the 1st of Oct.. they close on the new house the 30th so they have to be ready to move the minute they get the keys...hopefully a bunch of friends will be helping- ..I will keep boys that night so they can stick to routine of school and stuff.. then I can go over to help unpack and put stuff away.. can't do much lifting but can put away and organize stuff...

Well off now to make beds and get the vacuum out..

Gee I hope everything goes smoothly w/ the closing for the move. It would be terrible for there to be a delay w/ closing when the dates are so tight.

I just finished mopping the living room; it gets particularly dirty around my desk where my chair is most of the time. Also, Maxi spilled something yesterday. I couldn't see it against the wood colors, but I could feel the sticky. So now everything smells that great orange cleaner smell!

Gee--I just got back--DH & I made a run back to Wal-mart, as MIL left her cane in one of the carts. I have no idea why he reused to go last ngiht but this morning, it was ok to do it. BTW: NO breakfast or early lunch was bought for me either....

So then when we called MIL to tell her we were bringing her her cane, she told us she had just broke her second pair of glasses, so instead of taking her on wednesday to get the first pair fixed, I will be going tomorrow afternoon (the place she goes is not open on Mondays) to get BOTH pairs fixed. It will be a rushed afternoon, but if I let them take my tuesday mornings, it would just "happen" every week, trust me I know these people. IT is all about control of me.
DH even said yesterday I am better off for it---sheese.
We have a beautiful day here--says it is 81 now but it is not humid or sticky and the AC has not run once yet today.---

Fall weather is beautiful, mind you we got a frost every month of the year this time so it seemed like it was always around.

Got my sis-in-law to take me to town, filed all the paper work...and then she gave me another form for DD to fill out, but this one is for direct deposit so it must be going good..we can mail that one back this week.

Picked up some Hallowe'en treats while I was there and a costume for the baby but now I am seriously thinking it might not fit her by the time Octobers end rolls around(it's looks small for 3 months)..might have to buy another a size bigger and just return what doesn't fit.

Oh and I started my X-mas shopping today ...bought Baby's 1st Christmas ornament.

Good morning. I overslept a bit this morning so rushed around to get my kid to school. Not my usual waking with the sunrise and coffee morning. Then I got home and went straight to work making more huge piles to be removed. I have taken a break from that for the last few days. But my arms are rubbery now and it is getting too warm to work much more.
I have a couple of different types of sausages in a crock pot with piles of vegetables. So my dinners for the next couple of days is preplanned.

Tamara---good thing to get madisson';s halloween outfit now---they may well be gone soon. and yes I think buying the enxt size might bne a good idea. after all if i t is big you could always but her outer garments on under theoutfit.

nana that is fast moving, I hope all goes well too. But many peopel have moving vans sitting in the parking lot of the place where the house closing is going on. It wil all go well, I am sure.

I caught Cheryl's funk not feeling good this afternoon and it hit me all at once, maybe I'm allergic to WalMart...the same thing happened after I got home from there the last time also.

Hi everybody!

I'm home and have pasta boiling in one pot and spaghetti sauce bubbling in another. Garlic toast is about ready to go in the oven. Maxi is getting an early start on homework as he has a ton of it tonight.

Anybody planning on watching the new Hawaii 5-O tonight? On CBS? I am -- just for the lark of it to see how they've modernized & changed it. I used to enjoy the original.

I liked the old hawaii Five-O so I decided I would not watch the new one--but then that is how I am--
I did however watch the season starter of "How I Met Your Mother". All I really want ther is to see who "Ted" married.
I hear that I have to wait ahile yet --but oh well--it is funny.
