I had a busy morning and forgot to check in and greet. I was working outdoors trying to get things done before the rains for the next couple of days. Not that today was exactly dry. But it is supposed to step up a bit tomorrow. I am looking forward to it. Rain at this time of year is nearly unheard of and will help during out current fire season.

Yes, it WAS a beautiful day!!!! We went for a 3 hour drive up the river road to look at the turning leaves & eat out.

Next we took the ferry (free) across the river & went to my youngest DD's house. She is getting her house in order as her DH is due to return to the states in less that 2 weeks.
So her daddy wanted to take care of some things for her.

last we went shopping (I bought a bird feeder cleaning brush/sponge bop and then we went out to eat again!!

yea for Carol!!!!!!

really wore out now--I may be back later---

wavy

Hi everybody!

We had a busy Sunday here, also.

I went to church alone because Maxi was still away. I wore my new soft, characoal grey slacks w/ the matching floral top. The floral is in shades of blue, but around the scoop neck and cuffs is a delicate lace insert of characoal grey thread.

It was chilly here today & our church did the Blessing of the Animals, a few weeks late & it was colder outside for that service than is normal when we do it earlier in the month. Still, everybody was pleased to have the animals there.

I left a little early & didn't stay for coffee because I wanted to get home & do some things before Maxi's return.

He's been saying he wants to do his homework in the kitchen but we have the smallest table for sale anywhere *we measured tables in four states to find this smallest one!* and kitchen tables aren't really suitable for school work. So, I wanted to move his big new desk which I bought for him this summer out into the kitchen & get it set up along the back wall. It is a perfect fit! And looks quite good there! Also, he has two electrical outlets along that rear wall for his lamp & laptop, etc.

So he got home around 3 PM, ate his lunch and was so pleased to see his desk all set up out in the hubbub of our place! lol

Dom visited for a while & I got a nap. Maxi did his remaining homework & then we had dinner & he told me he had a wonderful time at the Youth event! His speech went very well & everyone liked it. Now he is all psyched to be a leader for the Youth event in February & he wants to do the group fast for 30 hours to raise money for African Aid in the spring.

My girl made a small mistake pulling Maxi's dress pants out of the dryer. She folded them as one would fold jeans so of course they were all crunched up & a mess. More of a mess than I wanted to deal with on the ironing board. So Maxi helped me dampen them & pop them back in the dryer to get rid of the worst of the crunches. Now my pressing task won't be so difficult come morning. What a good kid I have!

I'm thinking of a last cup of red rose tea....

A belly button is a wondrous thing. It is the way you were first fed and breathed and sustained. How nice that you have one. I thought aliens didn't.

Well...actually I'm researching that right now...on Google looking for aliens with belly buttons.

I don't think mine is actually a belly button...it's a place where about 6 surgeries crossed paths...and it's kinda cool because all the other scars I have from the laproscopic stuff made big holes in my belly that healed up very unattractively...but all of it together looks like the solar system with laproscopic planets orbiting around my freakish belly button.

You would never believe what you come up with when you Google "Do aliens have belly buttons?" Some do, some don't it says.
I even found out how aliens eat string cheese.

I am on a learning mission tonight, baby! thumbup

ladies I have not gone yet---
Yep Cindy I bet your belly button is a mess---I know waht my stomach looks like with just the 4. 'acourse 3 of them were in the same place so you might think it was jsut one surgery there, plus the laproscopic---.

Yep--we really need to talk.

merme I m ust go and read your post---BBL

I need to research random, fun stuff like Cindy. I've looked up all kinds of stuff on the pyramids before. Very interesting stuff. I had a pretty good day. Work went well, got the schedules done for the next two days so tomorrow I can mostly concentrate on my regular work. I finished up the grocery shopping and Aros and the kids weren't hungry yet and were watching a movie so I went running. Bet you'd never guess that's what I would have done with some free time huh? I got to test out my new shoes and so far so good. They will mostly be the ones I end up running my half marathon in as my other shoes are starting to wear. When I got home I cooked an easy dinner and then was freezing so I decided that a hot bath and a good book was just what I needed. I feel much warmer now but I am getting sleepy. Almost time for me to go to bed.

:ding: rose GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY! rose :ding:

It was 32 degrees here this morning when I got up and there was frost about. It is supposed to warm some during the day. I hope so!

Maxi had a rough start to his morning w/ a stiffness in his neck. I tried to get it to release, but couldn't work it out for him. He went off on Tylenol & he'll get some Ibuprophen at lunch time. Hopefully it won't be too painful the rest of the day.

Gotta go start the coffee....

Good Morning...I had Madisson most of the weekend grin then had no internet for a bit(high winds knocked out our cable)...still windy as can be out there.

Hoping Maxi feels better soon, Merme.

It's chilly out and we see snow flakes in the air every now and then this past while..Winter is on her way.

Sorry I missed you Tam, I was down in recipes posted another squash dish. I am going to make that for dinner tonight!

I'm glad you had Madisson over the weekend; not so glad you've had high winds & snow flurries. We are going to be in the 20's overnight this week.

I'll be in and out this morning before dialysis.

I am cooking the spaghetti squash in the oven this morning so I can add it to the recipe tonight and we won't be eating at midnight! I just get home too late after treatment to tackle a big recipe from scratch.

But as I work in my kitchen I am discovering how badly my girls misplace items. They just kinda put things wherever they want! Drives me nutty.

I signed up to do the Kitchen Cure. It is an 8 week on-line challenge to cure what ails your kitchen. I get a weekly assignment via email. It is definitely fun and worthwhile.

Good morning ladies.
Tamara: glad you got to spend some time with madisson--sorry about the weather. I hope that is not the norm this winter.

Merme--I hope Maxi feels better soon.--Sorry about the kitchen.
Have you ever considered making up a diagram of the kitchen, depicting where you want things to be kept?? that way anyone sho comes in to help you will know where you want things kept.

It is Monday so DH is home.-- rolz
I am thinking of taking Dante in to get his nails clipped. he is so touchy we cannot do it, & they really need done. Other than that I should be in & out all day too.

I really need to get at it soon---I want to be gone by the time DH returns.
I do have 1 more cup of coffee to drink yet

O.k. I went to check the fences and they weren't on, it took me an hour to walk, search them and look for a break or short, couldn't find a thing. I walk back home to call DH and...THE POWER WAS OUT. Didn't know whether to laugh or scream lol

Just got power back again 5 minutes ago, if this is what we are heading for this Winter..I am not impressed. As soon as the wind blows..we get knocked off the grid. rolz
