Cindy Lou Pearl you can be so funny sometimes! lol

Hi everybody! wavy

I am back from my busy morning.

I had an appointment at a local hospital for an MRI of my lower back, and x-rays of my left hip & left shoulder. Mostly I waited around. The MRI itself was only 20 minutes & the x-rays were quick. But I was there a long time anyway. Then a few quick stops on the way home.

I have an appointment this afternoon at 3.

I'm tired already....

All better?

I don't know what I did and I'm hoping it's just soreness and that it'll be better tomorrow but my left hip/groin area is killing me. Not a good thing when you have do walk around a lot.

We're all falling apart..piece by piece haha

My bones are creaking today like an old door. Does this mean I'm getting old? lol

No, it means you are getting older. We are all getting older; older every day. But actual old is a state of mind. Some of my days are older than others.

Tina I think you hit the nail on the head.
Old & older.

besides not getting older has lousy repercussions.

Tamara it could be the cooler weather too.
But since rest is good for you right now---do some restful projects like sewing for Madisson. thumbup

I would but I have to return my sewing machine to exchange for another...I tried to sew last night with it and the bottom thread isn't catching at all. DH checked it and it looks like something is broke inside..you can even hear the rattle. It's always something rolz Thankfully it was bought at WalMart so I'll exchange it next week. I'm wondering if it was dropped in the store..the side of the box had a ding into it.

My afternoon appointment today turned me into an official Avon Lady. I am so excited!

The new books have so many beautiful things in them & I have always loved ordering Avon's Christmas specials. Now I get to sell the Christmas specials! I'm thrilled!! I even got an official Avon Tote Bag to carry all my Avon gear.

I am hoping the x-rays & MRI I had today will tell my doc enough to come up with a reasonable plan for treatment to resolve some of this pain.

Then I'd really be tickled pink!

Merme, hope you get your pain resolved.
Tamara, hope you can trade your machine easily.
Tina, hi wavy
Carl, how was ceramics today?
I came home from work early today and iced myself and dozed off a bit. I'm cooking dinner right now. BBQ chicken for Aros and the kids, with coleslaw and corn on the cob. I'm trying a new squash recipe, if it turns out well I'll post it in the squash thread. I still haven't posted my spaghetti squash recipe there yet.

I really enjoyed my new recipe. I'm icing again and soon I'll be going to bed. I slept horribly last night and tonight I'm going to drink some hot chocolate and take a melatonin. That ought to do the trick. We are giving all of our residents flu shots tomorrow. I get to be the temperature taker, as usual. Hopefully my hip thing feels better tomorrow. Have a great night!

Good Morning all..

This talk of squash has me craving..and since our little store had none, I'm going to have to put in an order to someone going into town. Hope you feel better today Cheryl.

Avon? Wonderful, I use to love Avon but no one sells it here anymore. Everyone complained that they can't make enough money at it but that's because you usually spend the profits back into it thumbup

Tina, what kind of storm are you having?

I got my flu shot at dialysis. Maxi will get his at school. It is good to be protected especially if you are compromised in any way.

Last night I set up my online Avon store. That was a little daunting. But then I took the first training class online & that lasted nearly an hour. There are many training classes for me yet to take & it is a good thing I find the topics interesting! lol

I've got a funny bug, though. I like handling the catalog! For instance, you can visit Lillian Vernon online & also the other one, the Walter Drake. But I still like to get the catalogs for browsing. There is something special, to me, about handling the books that you can't duplicate online.

I guess I'm not modern enough! haha

I've got another busy day today. I have GOT to get my snap beans in the freezer....

Yup, I'm a catalog gal also. I haven't seen one in years but I heard they sell everything now besides make-up and such.

They are setting up for flu shots here, haven't had one in my life. Each year I debate it and then do not go.

Yup, Tam, AVON also sells clothes, jewelry, handy items such as clocks, blow dryers, boots, toys for young children, etc. They also have an entirely different book for trendy young people.

I find browsing catalogs of any kind is addictive even if I do not buy a single item!

Doing laundry & my girl is here.

Maine is electing a new Governor in November. We REALLY need a new guy but I do not like either of the foremost candidates. I like one of the independents but it is doubtful he can get in as he is trailing so far behind in the polls.

It is maddening not to have a person you can believe in enough to vote for!

Gee I will be so glad when we move & get Maxi's big bed fixed! We can't fix it for now, so he's been sleeping here there and everywhere! lol I even bought him an air mattress which sprung a bad leak in about a month...

So today I had the great idea to take the mattress out of the foldout bed in the living room which can't be used as a foldout bed any more. I put the mattress on his floor. Now he will be warm & comfy until we get his big bed straightened out. YAY for good ideas!!

I gotta go... the dialysis van will be here in a minute.

Tam, politics are confusing to everybody! haha

Have a great day!

wavy Ouch, what busy days we are having. It is 2 AM and I'm finally done and can get to bed. Tomorrow won't be as early a start as usual, but it is another hectic day.

Maxi likes the "new" mattress we put in his room. He has his special big blankets and favorite pillows, too, so he is as snug as the proverbial bug. lol I can hear him deep sleep breathing from here. It is a good night when he isn't up sleepwalking & sleeptalking.

All for tonight! See you all tomorrow!

Good morning. I can't believe I'm the first one here today. It's a little nippy outside this morning. I like it. It will get to 73º today though and is supposed to stay cool the rest of the week. Maybe it's finally fall. Has anyone heard if the winters are supposed to be bad?

wavy Morning!

Gee, I hope the winter isn't too harsh this year. Now that you've mentioned it, Sheri, I am going to ask the old farmer I know who often sits near me at dialysis what he's heard. He is usually spot on.

On Sunday, Maxi & I are participating in the National Kidney Foundation Walk. We signed up to be part of Team York County. It is a fun event. The people gather, eat, have something to drink. Take the walk through a beautiful park. It isn't an arduous walk so parents can bring their little children. Some people skate it. Sunday is expected to be a beautiful day, too. It will be nice to see the dialysis staff & my friends there.

The last fundraising walk I did on my own was a 17 mile walk for MS. I do not have anyone in my family with MS but it was a worthy cause, so I walked in honor of an MS patient I hadn't met.

It is overcast today & we couldn't see the comet. Too bad!

Or if you are senile and cannot remember the codes, you can do like I do. I click on a full reply box anywhere and then click on the smiley and then highlight/cut/paste from there.

I finally got the last of my yellow snap beans blanched. Now they are flash freezing. I had to teach my girl all about it because they do not preserve foods like this in Somalia. She is always interested to learn, even if it is just vocabulary or to understand something about life in America.

I am impressed with her because she made the effort to become a citizen & even registered to vote and has voted in one election so far.

Many things about life here still mystify her but we have a complex society. She said at home things are quite different... one peoples, one religion, one language.

Ok the weatherman states that since 2010 was a 'La Nina' year..that we should prepare for a fierce and wicked Winter...not liking him very much at the moment lol

Oops sorry Merme, you posted while I was typing..didn't see you there.

With the different nationalities of your girls..you must learn some new and interesting things as do they.

You got that right, Tam! Every day we have fascinating conversations and I learn much. We laugh alot together, too, as some things about our culture truly make no sense but we do it or enjoy it just because... or just for the fun of it. Which can be hard to explain to a newcomer. Like Halloween, for instance.

Right now she is off to the grocery store with a list. I hope she can manage. yikes Maxi told me she will do better than some of the American born girls I've had. I think he is right.

They are telling us that this La Nina is supposed to bring us the worst winter we've seen in 50 years. I really hope they're wrong. Today is supposed to be another sunny and 60's but the rain supposed to be coming in tonight and it's supposed to be a wet and blustery this weekend. Maybe it's good I can't run right now. Hip is still bothering me, Aros finally got me to start taking something for it and he says if it's still there in a week that I have to go to the doctor. I went to the gluten free bakery this morning and decided to treat myself. Most of their stuff doesn't have dairy or soy either and they make delicious treats. Today I bought a piece of pumpkin, Ginger bread and a cinnamon roll. The pumpkin bread was wonderful! Well, busy day today so I'll see you all later.
