I have a living stone I bought a month ago, it was very dry at purchase so I transplanted it and watered it a little. It got taller within a week and looked healthy again. But in one corner a chunk appeared to have rotted away, and beneath it looks like a tiny, bright green living stone, a new plant growing. But I thought the new plant would come from the middle of the old plant as it died off, this looks like a whole new plant growing, or a seed got in the pot?

Is this normal, and how will it grow if the old plant is above it and will prevent it from growing taller, is it attached, or do I transplant it?

The older Lithop will dry up and shrivel, allowing the baby (and others) to grow. Don't do anything special... just be patient
