Hi again everybody!

We ate such a nice lunch, neither one of us wanted dinner. So Maxi had a piece of apple pie & I had a cup of tea.

Tho' I am thinking of grilled cheese....

If I was in Washington I would have a big freakin' HUGE snowman built!
Washington snow makes good snowmen...it's not that powdery kinda snow that won't stick together.

Merme...I need a grilled cheese sandwich. boohoo
...I'm too lazy to make it, though.

Hi all,
My roofer changed his mind and sent his crew today to do the roof- they arrived about 9 and they were done by 4:30... there were at least 6 guys to do it... I left right after they got here... was not going to listen to that much hammering... went to Carrie's for the day... haven't even seen it yet cause it was dark by the time I got home... now we can put our lights up this weekend... will be way to cold the next few days... our highs will be in the 30's till Fri.
I am going to start cooking tomorrow- do have to go get the rolls and a couple lemons to make a lemon meringue pie... will do them tomorrow too.. hopefully that is the only things I need for dinner... turkey is thawing in fridge... will get it ready tomorrow for the oven too.. and bake the sweet potatoes and make the mashed.. and the stuffing.. that way will be ready to bake and reheat ,less for me to do on thurs... will have to get Joseph over tomorrow to help me bring up the extra tables and chairs..
Well I am going to go to bed early tonight.. so will say goodnight,
Nana

Well...good for you, Tina! I am stove challenged...it took me 2 tries and I finally got the perfect tuna/cheese melt. (I had to add tuna to the mix...of course...)

[Linked Image]

No...wait...here's the perfect sandwich...

Ooops...here's the perfect drink with my grilled cheese/tuna sandwich...

Awesome! I opted out of tuna but seriously considered ham. Decided to stop at cheese. But now I think I may need to revisit my stove.

Good morning, everybody!

I just had to break out in song this AM... such lovely blue skies overhead! After so many days of doom & gloom, fog & rain & cold those wonderful blue skies really made me sing!

I had a vicious nightmare last night caused by a low blood sugar. It is your body's way of waking you when your sugar drops too low in your sleep. I dreamed I was being held captive in a darkened mansion w/ a bad guy in every room. As long as I stayed afraid, I was trapped. But as soon as I said "I'm not afraid!" one villan disappeared!! So I ran through that mansion in the dark, declaring "I'm not afraid! I'm not afraid!" as one bad guy after another disappeared until I was outside & finally off the property. I woke up declaring "I'm not afraid!"

Checked my blood sugar & it was scraping the bottom of the barrel for sure. Ate 1/2 a pb sandwich & had some milk and then I went back to bed.

My EX & his girlfriend were feeling the pinch this holiday and I'm so glad Maxi & I were able to help them out w/ a turkey, a bag of potatoes & a bag of apples & oranges. They were in good shape with the other things. Normally her mom can help them but both of her parents have been very sick for the last 2 months and not allowed to work, so the parents will be relying on her & my EX.

It was funny how I ended up w/ a ton of potatoes. I had bought me & Maxi 10 lbs, which lasts us a good long time. Then my church had been selling potatoes & when they sold all they could, they donated a huge number of bags to the local pantry. But that still left bags at the church. So they asked people to take a bag to give to someone in need. So as I was leaving, the guy in charge of the potatoes put a 10 lb bag on my lap & I thought "great, I can give these to..." and then he put ANOTHER 10 pound bag in my lap! So that put me at the 30 lbs of potato mark & then yesterday someone else gave me a 5 lb bag! ay-yi-yi! I've been calling all over .... you guys need any poatoes? lol

PotatoesRUs! haha

Dialysis today.

Baking pies tonight when I get home, & scrubbing the kitchen from top to bottom.

I had to call the agency who provides my girls. Early in the morning, I had taken an hour to make a 9 x 13 pan of palenta w/ cheddar cheese. I set it on the stove top to cool. When my girl arrived at 8, she picked it up and THREW IT AWAY while I was in the other room!!! boohoo

I asked her why she threw it out? and she said "It had no cover". So what!

Boy was I upset.

The agency got my point & had a little chat w/ her...

I'll take those potatoes Merme..I am almost out and need to go for some tomorrow. It was very kind of you to help your Ex and his family.

I can't get over your girl throwing away your food touched ...I seen you posted you had only tea last night tapfoot

It's still snowing, big fluffy flakes..so pretty. And the snow is sticky, we'll be seeing snowmen when school lets out. My horse wasn't impressed that I wouldn't let him out this a.m. but there's ice under the snow...not taking a chance.

Good morning. I have no big plans for my day. Just the normal daily stuff. And I will take Ted to McD's for some lunch today. That will make him very happy.

After I got home from dialysis today, I finally made the dinner I've been thinking about for a while. I made corn fritters, bacon & eggs. I wanted it yesterday but never got around to it.

While I was gone, Maxi cleaned the front porch & our part of the yard w/out being asked. All the boys come here to play so they apparently helped him do it. NICE!

We moved Button's cage away from the slider for the winter. He loves being there in spring, summer & fall so he can visit with the outdoors & sing w/ the other birds. But it is far too cold come winter. So he is tucked away in his cozy corner by the clothes dryer he enjoys so well.

And, that opens the space for our Christmas tree which we like to put in front of the slider to appreciate from inside and out.

Good night everyone. I had a busy day at work, walked again, then we went out to dinner and did a little bit of shopping. I have my pumpkin pie in the oven and as soon as it's done I'm going to bed. Gotta a busy day of cooking ahead of me. Hope my pie is good, it's a new gluten free adventure. I'm also experimenting with making a gluten free stuffing tomorrow and making my own cranberry sauce. I'm trying to enjoy this holiday without feeling left out. I could eat the canned cranberry sauce but I'm trying to cut out high fructose corn syrup and I've always wanted to make homemade cranberry sauce anyway. Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow!

I find laying in bed knowing you don't "have" to get up so much more relaxing than sleeping in.

Yes, it is. But I was laying there listening to a cold, blistering wind and thinking about having to bring in firewood very soon. Not nearly as relaxing.
And now I am getting a little hungry as well. All of the news is all about cooking and feasting and things. Got my stomach's attention.

Maxi and I just had brunch & are watching the Macy's Parade. I have always loved seeing the Rockettes, either in the parade or at Radio City in person. They are awesome! It always tickles me when a bunch of people are in a room watching them & at least a few will stand up & try to do the high kicks in unison. It can be irresistable! lol

My Avon order arrived late yesterday so this morning I am sorting it out. Gee, how many shower gels can one person stack?! haha

I've never seen Macy's Parade. How long do they usually last?

I remeber years ago my mom Sold avon and her eyes were bad so I had to seperate out and bag the orders, I used to make little castles with all the different jewlery boxes and lipsticks.

Shani the Macy's parade is from 9 AM until Noon. 10,000 people march in it. University bands from all over the country, floats galore, gigantic character balloons, etc. Santa is on the last float. The parade route is 2.8 miles (4.5k)through New York City. Today at least they have lovely weather & it isn't storming as it has in years past.

Hi all, nice to see you back Juniegirl kissie and nice to see you join us Shani wavy

Well the snow has stopped for today, DH just brought me home the truck so I can take DD to the bank to straighten out things..she got an apartment and is moving in a little over a weeks time..a half hour away tears I'm gonna miss just seeing the baby whenever I want. But I am glad that Social Services have stepped up to the plate to help her..these are special apartments for women and children in 'difficult' situations.

SO DH and I bought a second hand crib yesterday(for little to nothing)so today I will clean it, and fix it up so baby can stay here for a few nights at a time.

Storm again for tomorrow, we sure are getting belted with snow. hoping everyone is enjoying their day~turkey, parades and all. I was watching a bit this morning, they were showing them getting the big float character balloons ready and in order.

It is a shame your DD will be that far away, but on the other hand, I'm glad she is getting help, Tam. And as you say, Baby can visit!

The temperature is dropping. Now I understand why they are forecasting sleet tonight!
