Well...to those who I said I would send some of these...well...that turned out to be the only one out there. lol I assumed since there were so many crocuses that there would be a lot of these little irises, too. WRONG!

She said it was tiny. So I'm thinking it is a 'species' iris. The kind they take stuff from to to generate bigger, taller ones.

Bill told me it was a Dutch Iris. I was so excited...thinking there were millions out there ready to bloom. I guess the other things around it getting ready to bloom are those little grape hyacinth thingys...there's a bazillion of them, if that's what they turn out to be.

I had told Carol that I grow my columbines in the same area where I grow my tulips, even though the tulips require sun, and the columbines, shade. The white birch tree that they are all planted under doesn't fill out with leaves until the tulips have bloomed, and then there is perfect shade for the columbines.

Thanks everyone!

The silene is in full bloom and such a shocking pink beauty!!!
This was all from a single piece I pulled up somewhere years ago - the teensy seeds spread the plant everywhere and I corraled it into one area. luv

The ground cover sedum is also in bloom - this one in bright yellow!

Pulling this up as well---

I hope my small iris make it & bloom next spring.--
If I keep adding iris plants to this small bed that I have, I am going to force out all of my transplanted wild violets from the farm---I must really learn to control myself ya know???
