Is it me?..I'm having this problem with my post office. First it was the postal carrier leaving packages leaning up against the storm door so that I couldn't get them without knocking them off the single stair.

I cornered her on it and she said it was policy to put them under the eaves. The problem with that is two fold. One I don't have any eaves and two I'd have to knock them into the rain to get out the door to get them if there was any rain, which there wasn't.

Today she brought me a certified letter. Walked right through the lawn and through the flower beds that are edged with two by fours while I'm standing at the door.

I know you have to take a test to get in the postal service a difficult one. So how did this person get her job in the first place?

I've talked to her supervisor once. Now what do I do, just put up with it?

I do not know, Tammy. I have always had good mail delivery people. I might have said something about walking through the flowerbeds though.

I've had a problem getting someone else mail in the past. We have the same house number but not the same street. I'm pretty sure it was an error caused by rushing though the sort at our small PO but that should not be a good excuse. I talked to my post office several times and it has been several months since I got anyone's mail but mine (and my neighbor's lol).

yes I have a good mail carrier also--but I too think I would have said something about the flower beds----I get that they like a speedy delivery but really how long can it take to go around a flower bed

TK this must be so aggravating for you!

I would speak to the post office supervisor.

AND I would put up a sign "Keep Off The Lawn" Or "Keep Out Of flower Beds". There is no excuse for doing that to you at all.

As for your packages, could you intall a package mailbox? It doesn't have to be expensive... just waterproof & secure.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I've thought about the package mailbox since I do have a number of packages that come here.

I've also thought that maybe I would just pick up packages at the Post Office.

I wouldn't put up signs my neighbors would think I was crazy.

I may put up a higher edging around the wood edging so walking through it would be more difficult.

I'm beginning to believe that things are culturally different in the country as regards lawns and gardens.

Although there was that guy that I found sleeping in my garden when I still lived above the bus station.

lol Tk the signs wouldn't have to be like billboards... they could be those small decorative kind one sees near gardens often with some pithy saying on them.

Man dear, I so would NOT have liked to find someone sleeping in my garden! yikes Although once I did have a crazy neighbor who dug my garden up at 4 AM one morning. I caught her in the act, just being destructive.

And if the supervisor isn't helpful, how about the Post Master? The Master himself should be able to get the attention of this carrier.

Our new mail carrier is great but our post office sucks...
