Today while getting Diane moved her grandson Breyton walked Emmy down the street where they always walked her. A pit bull was running loose and attacked her she is in very bad condition. A neighbor and a police officer saw the attack and pulled Breyton to safety the police beat the pit with his club finally using pepper spray to make him turn Emmy loose. Per Animal control we took her to I-20 Animal Clinic they refused to see her at all unless we gave them $94.00 we took her to another vet down the road she is in very serious condition several puncture wounds and hip damage as well as nerve damage and air under her skin. Will post more as we can Diane in not able to post at this time. Please remember her and Emmy in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for posting, Jimmy. I just can't believe our sweet Emmy is so badly hurt. I hope she knows how much she is loved by all, and gets stronger every minute!

Dodge what they are allowed to do and what the owners let them do is a big diff. Some pet owners are just not responsible and don't care the dog is in the pound. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for Emmy and Diane. Vet. said she has no fight in her just hoping she improves enough to start fighting. We will go see her tomorrow.

Oh dear Lord!

I am so very sorry this happened to little Emmy.

I called & spoke w/ Jimmy today for a minute while they were getting stuff loaded and of course this had not happened yet. When I spoke w/ him, everyone was still fine just working like crazy.

Although Diane can't see this w/out internet, I do so hope she knows we are thinking of her & Emmy and praying for them as well.

Vet. just called Emmy has deep pain in all her legs which is a good sign as that means no nerve damage. Has 2 broken ribs and several puncture wounds still concerned about a punctured lung. Vet ask Emmy is she wanted to go for a walk and Emmy raised her head that's a good sign she must be getting more fight back into her. Diane is on the phone with me now telling me this while I try to type it. Diane said thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and Emmy is till in danger zone and continued prayer are appreciated.

Yes, good news that Emmy is responsive and shows signs of pain and movement. Glad they are watching her so closely.

OMG !!! I Just heard of this-----I am so so very sorry for Diane, Breyton & of course Emmy. Poor little girl--I hope she does indeed have the fight in her that is needed so she can get through this night & so then begins the road to healing.

I would like to think that the owners of the Pit Bull will be liable for the vet bills that Emmy incurs. That would be the right thing to happen anyway..

Thanks Carol I will tell Diane. She will get the police report Monday and proceed with what ever options we have. Since a Police officer saw it all that adds a lot of humph to our side. Carol it is a pleasure being Diane's friend she is fun to talk to and be around. Since we met here a few years back we have helped each other through a lot of hard and emotional times. I haven't done anything for her that she wouldn't do for me if things were reversed.

I am glad to hear of the police report- and as I said glad that an actual cop saw teh whole thing--now the owners of the pit bull cammopt fabricate stories.

They need to pass a law that everything a dog does..the owner should be charged with.

Diane just called Emmy is still in a lot of pain and not eating. They are going to take more X Rays she is on her way over there to see her. Will post more later today or tonight after we get everything done still have garden stuff to move.

Just talked to Diane Emmy is more alert now Diane put the phone so I could talk to her said she responded. Going now to fish things will post anything new when I get back.

Just talked to Diane Emmy has blood in her Urine not sure why also hip Dysplacia some very deep wounds they will have to put her under because of the pain. She will get info tomorrow and see about the dog owner paying for this bill she is still alert and responds to commands as well as she can.

Jimmy, if you speak to Diane again please tell her I'm praying for she and Emmy. I'm so glad Emmy is fighting to get better. She's strong like her mommy.

I have been away from home today & so this is the forst I have h ad a minute to get online to check after Emmy & Daine.

Thanks for putting Emmy's progress on here Jimmy. I know Diane is very busy with lots of things right now so I am not calling her but depending on you to keep us updated.

Glenda I will post her progress here as I find out. We will finish the move tonight (odds and ends). Also contacting my vet today hopefully for a second opinion.

Rachel I delivered your message. Prayers have worked this morning Diane went to Dr Gully they gave her all info on CD's. Then Diane took her to my vet. Dr Sheets ( I had made arrangements for payment). Not sure what all he did but gave Diane some meds. and sent Emmy home After some stitching. They told me @ this time surgery on her ribs will do more harm then good. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers please keep them coming. Diane is still very busy wish I could do more but she wont allow me to due to my health..

Thank you Jimmy for relaying our messages to Diane and keeping us updated. I know how precious Emmy is to her. I'm so glad she is on the mend. My prayers and thoughts will continue. You're a great friend Jimmy. Thank you for being there for Diane. It's hard to believe(and sometimes I even forget) that I've never even met Diane face to face. So many hours spent on the phone, I feel like I've known her my entire life and she got me through the most difficult time of my life.

I know what you mean we were talking a week or so back that we felt like we have known each other for ever instead of a few short years. Diane is very good helping people through rough times she has helped me fight depression and when I was in the hospital she did her best to call everyday. My granddaughter said while I was in a coma she called almost everyday to check on me. Then when I was moved to the rehab hospital she and I talked on her way home at night and I text her each morning. She is the best friend I have so I just do what comes natural when she needs help.

It's wonderful that Emmy is at home with Diane now - that's what a baby needs to heal better - to be in the loving arms of the one they know best.

Spoke with Diane last night right before I went to bed she said Emmy ate some of her treats and has turned over on her own. She was getting her Kennel sterilized for her and finding old towels or rage she could use for a bed.

Diane said tonight Emmy ate a full can of food and licked the bowl clean. She is passing gas now which is good she is still unable to stand and is a lot of pain tomorrow I will see if the vet will give me something else for pain as she is out of her meds. and they don't seem to help her that much. Will post more as I find out we took a load to her new house tonight will get another one tomorrow night should be the last load. I have her rubber plant as she didn't have room for it. When she gets everything in it's place and finds a spot for it I will take it to her.

I hope the vet can find a pain remedy that is effective for little Emmy & that she is soon strong enough to stand.

Great news that Emmy is eating - I knew that being with Diane would be the best medicine for her. I hope you are able to get some pain medicine that will give her more relief, Jimmy - thanks so much for being Diane's (and Emmy's of course) bestest friend!!!
