Thanks for the prayers. All is well. Just problems with my back that I can't ignore anymore. I will be seeing a neurosurgeon soon to see what my options are. I just got really nervous today because the dr had said last week they would call with the MRI results and then today refused them over the phone and made me come in.

That is nerve wracking. I would have been on tenterhooks as well. I am happy to hear it is not as bad as our imaginations made it. But prayers still.

Prayers for Rachel I know how bad back pain is as I have spine problems myself

Two prayer requests tonight:

1) Our young friend Tom is missing. He is 25 and has been missing since December 6th. He left home that day in his car to make the six hour drive to Houston to see the game w/ friends. He never arrived. His parents & his girlfriend are beside themselves completely. Although Tom lives in New Orleans, both of his parents are still here in Maine. The dad teaches at Maxi's school & the mom is Youth Missioner to our diocese & we've spent much time on the phone together. Max is quite fond of them both & can't believe this is happening to their son.

2) My nephew Ted, age 26, entered rehab today. He is scheduled to be there an estimated 3 to 6 months. Ted's addictions have been outta control for a while & we've been scared to death he was going to accidently kill himself acting so dangerously. As tough as it is to have him go in right before Christmas, it is still a safer option & hopefully he will get well.

My step-dad has stage 3 rectal cancer. He has to do 25 rounds of radiation, wait 8-10 weeks, then have surgery. So far that's all I know. Oh, and a colostomy is likely.

Just found out a bit more. Doctors think it is very curable, it depends on how much the radiation shrinks the tumor and what surgery he chooses.

She is not at home for a few days & asked that I post this for her as while she is gone she cannot get on the forum.

they are preparing him for open heart surgery now..please ask for prayers for me on the forum..thanks.

Our young friend Tom was returned to his family a couple of days ago. I do not know any of the details, but we are grateful for the return.

UPDATE on Ted:
He was sent home from Detox yesterday because he must wait for a rehab bed. Hopefully one will become available soon and he won't fall back into drug use while waiting.

Baby B isn't strong enough for surgery...it's being held off for another 10 days.

well that is good---baby B will have time to get stronger---and it will giove us time to do extra praying.

Yup, we'll keep praying for Baby B.

We also found out what happened to young Tom. He was traveling in the border region on his way to the Rockets game in Houston when he was assaulted. He received a very bad head injury & the assailant stole his wallet & passport. The hospital didn't know who he was & he couldn't say. Now that he is home, he does have some dim recollection about being in the hospital but not much else. I guess it is going to take time for his brain to heal. Thankfully, his parents had been able to go down to New Orleans where Tom lives and also to Houston to coordinate the police effort & to appear on TV requesting help. Anyway, we are all delighted he is home again!

Prayers for all..Baby B needed the surgery today, he just got out and is in critical care.

Tomorrow (Wdnesday jan. 12) my only grandaughter has open heart surgery.
She has 3 holes in her heart and has had them since birth. She won't be two unti April but her doc wants to fix everything before she starts to show any problems. To watch her now, you'd not know she has any problems.

Any and all prayers will be appreciated.

Thank you every one. I'll post Wednesday night to let you how she's doing.

What they can do in miracles these days is wonderful. I am expecting good news and praying for it.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. My granddaughter is doing well. Her doctors patched one big hole, stitched another tiny one closed, and stitched together a cleft valve.
She is now in PICU for the next 24 hours or so then on to a regular room Saturday.

Prayers are still needed but she is doing well enough to ask for her brother.
