Are there any Missouri gardeners that are starting their seeds this month? If not when are you going to start?

I'm thinking of starting my lettuce seeds at the end of Feb for a March planting.

I live in Illinois--not outside gardening yet---the ground is still ice/snow covered. as faR a seeds---my dad would have been looking at seed catalogs & such this time of year.
I do not use seed that has to be started early.
I either direct sew or I buy seedlings/plants.

I think I'm going to start my seeds this weekend. Starting with lettuce, brocolli. I'm also going to try a differnt type of gardening using these hook thingys I bought at the home show that allows you to hang terracotta pots on fence poles. May do a ton of herbs and cherry tomato plants.

I love growing fresh herbs.
I have a chive plant that I have managed to keep since the girls were small.

advice about the cherry tomatoes.

Unless you are going to conatiner garden them, plant then where you do not mind a lot of volunteer plants coming up next year. The first time I planted a cherry tomatoe plant I did so right next to my other tomsatoe plants---the next year I had a lot of "volunteer" plants that I had to get rid of as I rotated my garden around every year.

let us know how your new little seedings come along..
