I was recently given a dieffenbachia plant that was very leggy. I was in the process of propagating it when I accidently cut to deep. I have placed it in water but am wondering what I should do next. Can anybody help me with this problem. Will it still root?

Cut up the piece you cut off into sections and put it into soil. Canes can be propagated this way. http://www.ehow.com/how_18416_propagate-cane-cuttings.html
