This is my third neighborhood bird walk. They are put on by the Seattle Audubon Society and I'm quickly becoming addicted. I've learned a lot on only three outings. Today's walk was focused mainly on sea birds. We saw buffleheads, brants, a common loon, a black turnstone, harlequin ducks, and even a bald eagle. The harlequin ducks are absolutely gorgeous, I've never seen them before. Unfortunately they were too far away for my camera but I'm happy I got to see them. The loon was diving more often than not so we only kept getting glimpses of it. The buffleheads and brants were much closer to the beach and I was able to get some decent shots of them. It was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to doing more of these throughout the year.
Buffleheads. I had a hard time getting a clear picture of them.
Brants.
Close up of a brant.
I also took some general scenic shots since it's such a nice day out. For the rest of the photo's, if you're interested
