I bought a bromeliad from lowes, came in a 6 inch plastic like bio-degradable pot with ivy. Its planted in what seems to be only sphagnum moss, is that ok or will it cause the roots to rot? And any tips on care: pruning, feeding, watering, etc? The tips of the leaves r turning brown should i trim the dead parts off?

I had a bromeliad for years ... they come from South America and theey grow in the moss way high up in the trees ... mine used to live in the bathroom ( had a great window with lots of light but not direct ... it loves the moisture when you are showering and I would spritz him with water or pour a little water into his (iguess you would call them leaves) and make a little pool of water (i used rain water for this ... he got lost in a move or I would probably still have him
