I'm new to gardening and I went out and bought a few Jiffy mini greenhouses to start my seeds in. I went home and without thinking about germination rate, I planted all of the "start seeds indoors 8 weeks before frost" together in a 72 pellet greenhouse. Now, I have seeds that are already sprouted (Basil - 5 days) sitting under the lid with seeds that can take up to 3 weeks! I've read on other forums that you should take off the lid when the first seeds sprout... but I really don't think I should yet.

Should I take out the pellets that have sprouted and put them in something else for now and put them under my light?

Any suggestions would be wonderful!

That would be a wonderful idea. I think you are right on target.

Thank you! I just wanted to hear it from someone who actually knows what they're doing.

So, if one were going to do this again, one would need to plant different seeds at different times so they could all be planted at once?

Or is the previously mentioned method the typical method? Just wondering, as I am new to gardening as well and was thinking about using a mini greenhouse kit as well. I would have done the same exact thing as Brianna, though it seems to have worked out well.

I would determine the last frost date in the state I lived in and plant 2 weeks out from that. By the time the frost date is past then you are ready to put into your garden.

don't forget to harden off your seedlings before they go out to your garden so then don't catch cold. :)
