I am an FFA Advisor near Kansas City, Missouri. Our Chapter has been given the opportunity by a near by farmer to purchase sweet corn from him @ $4/dozen to sell as we see fit as a fundraiser. I'm thinking we can try to get a spot in a local farmers market or try to get permission from a local business to sell out of their parking lot.
My main question: How do I make an educated guess as to how many dozen ears we can successfully market? Also, what are your thoughts on farmers market vs. parking lot?
Thanks!

Welcome, Jay. My husband was FFA Advisor all the years he was a high school Ag teacher. You will know your local market better than any one else. Take into account your club members and their families purchasing. I am thinking a farmer's market may have more competition. But if you can find a busy weekend, non-food parking lot (Home Depot?) and get the permissions, you would not be competing in like products.
If you have leftovers, throw a Corn-B-Q for your workers!

Hi Jay, glad you found the forum.

I agree with Tina about the location, If you have lots maybe you can sign in for a couple of weekends of selling.
