We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I went to an 'oldies' concert there once. But the oldies were mostly being sung by newbies and it was a disappointment. After the Tokens came on and sang 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', I packed up and left. It is just too hot for me. And too expensive. You can no longer take anything into the concert and just a bottle of tepid water is up to $5 now.
I have been to very few concerts ever.
I am thinking of taking myself off to bed pretty early. My planned nap earlier got interrupted by the phone.

Yeah, they really gouge you at those kinda places for drinks. Rachel said water was $4 a bottle at the race tonight, and an Icee for Brennan was $10! Beer sounded like the best deal...$7...lol

Think I will try to go to bed soon my own self... snooz

Good Morning Ladies & Gents...

Cindy--if it makes you feel any better---I am older than you are---I have NO idea how I got to be this old--but then I guess I should be thankful, huh????

Today I am considering putting some of my houseplants outside---yea I know I should have had them out already---so maybe I will wait until we have our next cool snap---which I am fairly confidant will happen---then they can get use to the hot a bit more slowly---and I will only put them on an East facing covered porch.

Today to Monday is supposed to be very hot--in the upper 90's with heat indicies even higher. My weather thingy here on my conmputer says high here will be 87--but that is not what the St Louis stations are saying. Kinda hope they are wrong.

Suppose to take a small road trip this afternoon---kinda looking forward to it.
DH keeps talking of a small vacation but it has yet to happen---at least this will get me away for a few hours, even if it is to a place that Rod picked out

Good morning. I was up a few times in the night. My teenage daughter turns 20 in a month and a half. I'm hoping it means she is growing up and won't be so nocturnal. She is a sweetie pie though so it is hard to be too upset. And I have no alarms to worry about for the next 3 weeks.

Hello everyone. I'm sitting at the tire place, waiting for my tire to be fixed. This always takes a long time so i brought my nook but they have wifi so I'm not reading, came here instead. I have to do grocery shopping later but I think I'll run first. I'm actually feeling human again, haven't felt great the last couple days. It's sunny but not too warm, which is perfect for me.

I'm glad you are getting your tire fixed, Cheryl. I am just sorry it is a lengthy process. I am glad you are feeling well enough to run and the weather is good for it too. I envy you.

Hi everybody!

We had a really nice day today. Maxi went swimming & I went shopping & unpacked some kitchen boxes and found our plates! YAY! No more paper plates for now!!

There is a Family Dollar store about 6 blocks from our place. It is really fun to not have to drive 30 minutes to one. So I went in the morning w/ my girl & then took Maxi there this evening. He picked out some items for his bathroom. In the morning I got some shorts and tops because I was down to one pair of shorts. They were having a buy one, get one 1/2 price sale, so I got 2 tops and a pair of shorts & a pair of capris. I also got a set of sheets for my bed. After five months of sleeping on a bare mattress w/ a sleeping bag, I am tickled pink over my new pink sheets! lol

Tomorrow Maxi is going to the beach w/ friends while I go to church. Sunday school isn't in session during the summer and many families travel, so there isn't always anyone there for him to hang w/ in summer, so the beach is a nice alternative!

Good evening all,

Had a pretty nice dat today. Only 88 which is so much better than 98 like it has been.

Went and bought more flagstone for the areas in the garden I walk thru the most. Treated more shrubs from the vine weevels. I hate those little suckers.

Tomorrow me and my hubby are going to take a drive in the mountains and hike around a bit. I can't wait.

Tonight I'm just watering and having a kaluah drink adrink to take the edge off my nerves. My 18yr old son joined the airforce in Dec. and the last of his training started today. They took and dropped him off in the middle of the mountains somewhere in Washington and he has to survive on his own for 5 days. So I'm being a typical mom and worrying myself to death. I'm sure he'll be fine but I worry about bears, wolves, broken legs ect.

No my drive to the mountains tomorrow is NOT to go find him. Although I'm tempted lol

Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Pamela~

Pamela have a great time tomorrow. and about your son--my SIL is in the navy reserves after a 6 year stint in the navy. They call him up every once in awhile to go active--it is nerve racking at t imes, but hey, I am proud of him as I am sure youare proud of your son.

and I "think" they keep an eye on them while they are out in the "wild", they just do not know it---so not to worry too much----
Going to sleep now, so good night everyone---sweet dreams & sleep tight. bow snooz

Hi everyone. At work today but it's my short day. Accidentally woke up late, oops. My tire fix was free, there was a nail in my tire. Glad it's fixed as my MIL is coming and we want to go to the Japanese steakhouse which requires freeway driving. The kids leave with her on Thursday and will be gone for two weeks. What are we going to do with ourselved with no kids? Hope everyone is having a great day!

Whew, I just got caught up on my blogs. Why did I want to write so much? why I can't help it, when I'm in a good mood and doing well I enjoy writing. When I'm tired, worn out, and just plain old blah, I don't want to write anything. I got my running blog updated with four posts today and I updated my journal with a zombie post. I'm craving sugar, think I'll have some fruity pebbles.

I see a party happening in the Emerald City. No one feels like doing much when they are feeling blah, Cheryl. It is just a fact of life.
I feel very blah in the heat of the day these days. It is hard to fight through that. And when I watch the national weather, I have had it easy in comparison.

I can't stand this heat here in the south...and I thought it couldn't get worse than last year. I guess the older I get the hotter it gets. (Well.....that sounded weird...LOL)
I laid my hand on top of the grill lid today to get my balance and burned my hand...you could have fried an egg on it.

Tomorrow I will fry an egg on the grill lid and post pictures... thumbup

I know just what you mean, Cindy! I was in the pond yesterday, deadheading waterlilies, and a few times had to get my balance by putting my hands on the slate rocks that line the outside of the pond. OUCHIE MAMA they were HOT HOT HOT!!! yikes

Today I am going to a new-to-me doctor, that a friend described as being like Dr. HOUSE! nervous Said he can be very abrupt, but not nasty like House. Well the thing is, when I asked another dr. for a recommentation for a doctor who would listen to me, this is the one he told me to go to - HUH? Doesn't sound like it from my friend's experiences with him. This docotr also always runs ate - the office tells you to call 1/2 hour before your appointment to see how late he is running. Fun tumes, NOT! rolz

I went out and pulled a few weeds and moved sprinklers around. I toted my trash to the dumpster. But I am feeling house bound so Ted and I are going out shopping. I will need a couple of things but I am mostly going to get his classroom some school supplies too. The state and district have shaved the teacher's budgets to basically nothing. Every little bit helps.

It is hot as hell here...supposed to be worse tomorrow. Road trip tomorrow so I will be packing plenty of water.

It is not just my son's school supplies I am buying. I am buying stuff for the whole classroom. Reams of paper, colored paper, construction paper, foam sheets and foam shapes. Puzzles, games, crayons markers and white board markers and a white board. I bought 6 beach towels for their swimming.
Ted is in what I call kindergarten-forever. But most are young adult ages. He is technically in 12th grade, a senior. He has been in the same classroom for the last 4 years. 3 different teachers and different aides and some different students but he has been in the same room. When he goes back on Aug first he will be in a new room.
Today, for instance, I bought 2 doz school glue and 45 glue sticks, hundreds of markers and crayons and 2 more reams of paper. Plus those whiteboard markers. It is bunches of fun. And I love to do it when I can afford it. And right now I can.
And the budget that the teachers get is really laughable. I am just having fun.

Yes, John was a teacher too. A lot came out of our household budget for his job. So I know.
Good night, Carol. Sweet dreams.

No apologies necessary, Carol. I hope you have a blast with your ceramics. I'm thinking that "frop off some muggins I made her" has something to do with this? Because it is a foreign language to me. lol
Good morning all. I have no major plans for my day right now. But I'm sure things will come to me as I go along and after my coffee.

Good morning everybody! wavy

Phew! What busy days we are having! Good days, though.

Today an occupational therapist is coming over in the morning to help me learn the new bathroom. I've gotten stuck in there half a dozen times. I think she might also be bringing adaptive equipment as well to make it safer.

Then I gotta run outta here because at noon I see the prosthetist to get my new leg. He made it over the weekend & it is ready today. Also, my new shoes should be in. We ordered something nice for summer and I can't wait!

Then I'm off to the cardiology people. My doc called & put me on fast track to Urgent Care so that one of his partners will see me at 3 because he himself is caught in the cath lab all day.

Maxi has an algebra exam this morning and swimming this afternoon.

BUSY!

But it is great to take advantage of our ohtooshort beautiful summer season and be productive. We found our grill yesterday so it won't be long now til Msxi has it rarin' to go. mmmmm, doggies!! lol

So far we have a nice stand of pretty Day Lilies by the back door. Now I gotta get my window boxes in & Maxi wants to plant leaf lettuce.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
