Now THAT would be scarey! He is being bad tonight. He took a mean pill or smoked crack or something...he hasn't slowed down all freakin day. I was almost asleep in the recliner and he jumped on me and chewed half my face off earlier. I'm locking his @ss in the bathroom tonight.

Soon as I posted that a minute ago he curled up in the chair beside me and went to sleep. He's probably just playing possum so he can attack me when I least expect.

I had a neurotic cat once. But I doubt I would put up with it again. And he did not attack out of the blue. He just didn't want to be bothered so if you left him alone he would only hiss at you when you went by too close.

Why do I end up with all the weird pets? Remember Hell Hound Freckles several years ago? That dog sent me to the ER several times for stitches.

I could totally handle a cat like that better than this crazy freak of a cat.

I was here on and off all night checking for spammers...couldn't sleep, even though I took a Halcion.
I'm thinking seriously about locking Lola and the cat up and taking another Halcion and sleeping all day...I am so tired and because of this Sjogrens Syndrome my eyes have blood in them right now from not sleeping.
I have got to sleep...might have to look for a baseball bat to knock my bad self out with.

OK, I plan on going out today and picking up some things. When I leave Jonni watching Ted, she kind of cranks up the music a little loud. I am, glad it won't disturb you.

Good Morning,
I am worn out from yesterday's bbq..but have to work on house clean up today... if I can get the mosquito bites I got last night from driving me nuts.. took a benadryl last so I wouldn't be up all night scratching them... I am allergic to them and it is not good... the county is broke so they aren't spraying and we make sure we have no standing water anywhere in our yard but someone sure does cause there were millions of them out there last night- I walked out to say bye to my kids as they left and had to come back in- the suckers love me... even with spray on they eat me alive..
well off to get my breakfast and get started on house before we heat up again... have a good day all.
Nana

Good morning! I was woken up by the sound of thunder. I think its done now but it was a nice surprise. It rain though, which means the trails will be a bit muddy. Oh well, good practice just in case. I'm not ready to get out of bed yet. Feel line I was awoken prematurely and will probably try to sleep some more. Cindy, I hope you get some sleep.

Well if it would help it just thundered here Cindy... windy too but I think it will go around us again... wasn't supposed to do it at all today but what do the weather people know.. they are wrong more often than right... at least it cooled off enough to open up the house and turn the cooler off.. it makes it so humid in the house it's a relief to be able to turn it off sometimes..
I got my kitchen cleaned up and the floor swept and mopped, got the folding table on the deck put away too.. my oldest grandson came over and helped Joe go next door and help the lady next door move some furniture in the house.. Carrie dropped off Derek and Timothy to stay here while they drive Jon's goddaughter back to Pueblo .. she had come back with them when they went camping- she was a flower girl at their wedding- and she is 15 now... time flies...
Well need to clean my bathrooms and run the vacuum- having all the kids here and in and out they track in lots of dirt... wanted to wash windows today but that will wait till a non rainy day I guess..

I just baked 7 loaves of zucchini bread, from one zucchini. Two loaves are gf for me and turned out well so I'm happy. Two loaves will go to the girl who gave me the zucchini, one will stay home and the other two will be shared at work. I also made prime rib and baked taters along with sauteed mushrooms and baby carrots for DH (me thinks cooked carrots are icky). I also did grocery shopping and sold my nintendo DS. Can I relax now?

I didn't cook today. But I ate all day. Lots of fruit for me. I also got a lot of weeding done. I really let it get too out of hand this year. But it was good to see progress today. I am getting ready for some fall planting. I have seeds by the pound to toss around on my hillsides.

I didn't do anything today except cook some more green tomatoes and banana peppers and mashed potatoes and sauerkraut with Johnsonville Brats. Stayed in the chair the rest of the day trying to sleep, which I still haven't. Thought for sure I'd sleep last night because I took a Halcion...didn't happen. Took another one tonight and I'm going to try to sleep again soon.

ya know Cindy---while I am extremely sorry that you cannot sleep---you are sure making me hungry talking about those fried green tomatoes-

But at least I have some vine ripened tomatoes & my benson's seasoning to eat now---and nope, sadly, not from my vine---Valarie's MIL-to-be gave me some when we left last weekend. They are from her sister there in southern MO

last night Valarie & I had our final fittings for her wedding dress & my MOB dress. now if I only knew whether to wear my wig or have my hair pulled back---the back is really pretty that way (banana curls in a pony tail kinda thing) but the front is kinda severe, & I am old after all & all of my wrinkles show, plus val keeps saying things like we will get rid of your grey, I know that bothers you --well no it does not, so you know who it does bother)----but I think that is what valarie wants. why
---any & all comments would be welcomed---

rehab, ceramics (yay) & hopefully some shopping today---
watering tonight-----

Good morning. I had a good night and plan on having a good day.
Carol, do with your hair the way that you are most comfortable. And if gray makes you most comfortable then gray it is. I love my gray.

Hi everybody!

Carol, can the stylist make the front a little less severe by poofing it up some? (a little tease, a little curl?) The back sounds like it would be lovely. And by the way, a severe front can be pulled off if you are wearing the right earrings (something fairly large!) Or even a small flower/jewelry piece to tuck in along the side to make the front look bigger.

I'm all for women letting grey show if they are happy with it. Just make sure your makeup tone works well w/ whatever hair color you choose.

Well, Maxi got ALL the last of the items off the POD last night, just about killing himself in the process. That big old TV made him cry, poor kid.

His little brother DJ was here to help for about an hour and a half and those two together crack me up. DJ adores Maxi and although Maxi loves DJ he is the older brother and tends to be affectionately hard on DJ.

So DJ was hauling box after heavy box up to the second floor and I said to Maxi "We will owe this kid a nice treat!"

Maxi: "Nah, it builds character!"
Me: "It is called a debt of gratitude, Maxi!"
Maxi: "Thanks, DJ!"

lol

Today is a day for groceries and sorting out some of the boxes. The boys were just hauling boxes up to the second floor w/out checking to see what was in them... so there is a likelihood that some kitchen stuff got put in storage. So if I can't find the useful things, I will know where to look!

It is 68 and beautiful here. The rains did us good.

Oh my good for those boys.. gotta love Maxi'e attitude= builds character.... LoL!
Glad you got it done- I hate the whole idea of moving ever again... I told Joe we were selling it all here - or giveing to kids... everytime we get rid of some of it, it seems we get something new... or the stuff in the basement mulitplies while I'm not looking...
We are in for another hot day with chance of t-storms.. Joseph is coming over to help get bathroom shelf back up in downstairs bath.. thing was up there for 15 yrs and fell on my head last week.. gave me quite a headache- and got a bruise on my arm from it- was better me than Timothy who had just been in there- it would have killed him cause he couldn't have reached it enough to hold it up.. broke a lot of my glass stuff that was on the top of it too.. made a wonderful mess... they are going to put extra anchors in it this time... do not want a repeat of that ever..
Carrie has Alli's boys today.. we are getting ready for the run/ walk in a couple weeks - going to bbq there and collect as much $ as we can for her.. it's a private benifit her friends and family have orgainized..it is being held at a park in Fountain , close to where she lives right now.. there is a big play space for kids so we are going to keep all the kids in one area.. will be lots of us to supervise them that way...
Well off to finish cleaning up my house before the heat gets to bad...

Sherri I am glad you are all able to participate in the fundraiser for Ali. It is great there is one play area for all the kids, too. It should be a fine day for you all -- especially if the weather holds.

Oh my, I am sorry about that shelving unit coming down on you! And you are right, thank God it wasn't on Timothy.

Maxi just made me a pot of coffee, bless him! I am going to stretch out for a while and he is going to go swimming this afternoon. It only costs $1 so he is golden.

Good morning everyone. At work today after our very productive weekend. The kids are coming home on Thursday night. We've had a nice time to ourselves but it'll be nice to see them again. Joey starts football soon and the girls will start swimming practices soon as well. Before we know it the kids will be back in school.

Cheryl yes the summer seems to be passing so quickly!

What will the girls be taking this coming year?

We will homeschool again for 10th grade. He will have Literature/Advanced grammar; Geometry; Anglican Studies (Theology); Biology I; World History II; Music Appreciation/Guitar lessons/Choir; French IV OR Latin if I can convince him to try it! lol

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I'm not sure exactly the names of their classes but they'll be taking English, math, history, some sort of science, and a gym class that has yoga. Ashley is going to continue with French and Amanda has decided to drop French and take Spanish, even though she already has three years invested in French. Her boyfriend speaks Spanish and I'm sure that has something to do with it.

I took French in HS. It helps me be able to read much of the Spanish that is available here. It isn't all that different than French. I encouraged my kids to take Spanish due to the availability of practicing it here, too. And bi-lingual, Eng/Span offers some job opportunities. I have not had much opportunity to use my French and it is pretty much gone now due to lack of practice.
And a boyfriend speaking the language may help with homework!

I have been doing some research about what to plant for fall and winter at the garden. Haven't made any decisions yet.

I took years of French from elementary through college. I absolutely love the language. I was lucky enough to visit Paris about 10 years ago with my husband. The only disappointing part was that no one there could understand me. I could understand them well, which helped a lot. I think you really do need someone to talk to on a regular basis or the accent just doesn't stick. Spanish would certainly have been more useful in CA.

This is very off topic, but can I still cook chicken that I accidentally refroze after I thawed it in the refrigerator? What a dunce I am sometimes!
