Hello,
I purchased a bulb collection for a butterfly and hummingbird garden but the bulbs came with no instructions I am looking for advice as far as how to plant the bulbs for the different types. I thought maybe we could start with the butterfly bush and the orange trumpet vine. can anybody help me? why

If the collection is mail-ordered contact the company for planting directions and the named varieties. If retail purchased can you check packaging for directions?

For Placement:

Trumpet Vine gets quite large and is a background plant. Use a heavy support to train it on. I plant mine behind the support as the flowers come from weeping branch tips. This way the branches weep toward you and you see the blooms instead of your neighbors. Fill in the facing bare side of the support with the shorter bulbs in the collection.

Standard butterfly bush is large with drab foliage. Don't plant to near a window or door. It will block both.

How you would plant these would depend on what else is in the collection.

butterfly bush 'buddleia' is not a bulb.

you may have Asclepias tuberosa 'butterfly weed'

or Schizanthus species ' butterfly flower'

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
