Hi..Im back!

We have a large 30+ ft. Sugar Maple in our front yard.
Up to this year it has done fine...
This year it produced an abundance of seeds that cover the whole tree.
The leaves are already changing color to yellow.
My question is this:
Is it caused by... why
1. The extremely hot and dry July we had.
2. The large crop of seeds on the tree.

I am worried about our tree and do not want to lose it. nervous

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!
nooo

Welcome back, Greg.
Does your maple still have green veins in those yellow leaves? That may be iron chlorosis.
If not there are other stresses that can cause early leaf change from too much water to a lack of enough. I am not sure if the unusual heavy seed production is affecting it or not. But stress can also cause a plant to try to replicate itself with a lot of vigor Lots of seeds). They also do not like a lot of high nitrogen ferts like you feed sod that might be under the tree.
I hope your tree recovers.
