I feel bad posting this in the Coffeehouse because I haven't read back...so I'll just post it here.
Rachel's surgery went OK, they got the tumor and her right thyroid out, sent a frozen biopsy to the lab while she was still on the operating table to see if the other side was cancer, but the test came back "inconclusive" so we have to wait 2-3 days to find out now from a different test. So...if it is she will have to back to surgery in a few days for the other thyroid and whatever else they have to do (lymph nodes, etc...)
I had to make a mad dash home this evening from her house...nobody to feed my critters...found out dad was in the hospital. We got him out of the nursing home yesterday and they had about killed him...I will explain more about this later, but he's not doing too good.
So...I haven't had time to read back...but I will try to. I am running on fumes at this point.

I just got the phone call.....
The biopsy taken of the other thyroid gland is cancer free!!!!!

Maybe I will be able to finally sleep tonight.....couldn't sleep at all last night thinking about the "phone call" we were waiting for today. I hope I snore so loud tonight I wake Spartacus and Lola up!!!!!

She's gonna have a pretty big scar across her throat and she's still in some pretty much pain, but thrilled to pieces that the rest is not cancerous.
Now if my dad would straighten his act up and get out of the hospital and be OK I'd really be a happy camper.
