It is cool here also but not that cold. And it should warm up nicely today.
I slept in late. But I'm not really doing much today so it is good.

Hot here...got the windows open and will have to turn the AC on soon.

My ankle is killing me...have to go back to the chair. Should have stayed off it and used the crutches, but they always seem to get in my way, I'm not coordinated enough to chew gum and walk at the same time, let alone use crutches and walk at the same time. Not taking care of this ankle will come back to haunt me...if I'd done what I was supposed to it would be better now. rolz

Good morning. I have laundry going. After my coffee I will see what other damage I can get done around here today. I never run out of things to do here. Just figuring my priorities is sometimes a trial.

Good Morning all,
I have had a cold and been fighting it by not moving a whole lot lately... just did what had to get done and Joe did some and rest just stayed the way it was so now that I am feeling some better got to get busy... do need to get some laundry done today---
We had snow in the mountains and woke up to frost in yard today,it is 36* right now- heater is on .. even got out my elec blanket last night- my house was cold!and we were in the 80's last week...
I went for my check up last week too- all was good except cholesterol.. no matter what I do it seems to go up.. got to exercise more or at all and eat more oatmeal ,, I hope that gets it down again.. I do need to make appts for a mammo and colonoscopy.. wonders of getting old.... just need to figure out how to work it in everyones school, work schedules ... but am calling tomorrow , maybe can do at least one this week...
Well off to gather bedding to wash and towels too... then the kitchen really needs cleaning up.... mopping too... been awhile.

Welcome back, Nana. Colds can really take it out of us. I am glad you are on the upswing of yours. I saw your snow on the news. Brrrr.
I stripped beds and have laundry going. Other than feeding my little son and myself, not much else has happened this morning. But there is plenty of the day left.

Hi again.. taking a break... got the upstairs done and had lunch- got towels and sheets in dryer and washer respectivily... on to kitchen now- the floor hasn't been mopped in ..... I don't even remember when I did it last... but sure needs it- don't know what we are having for dinner... maybe spaghetti...

It has warmed up to 54 * .. getting cloudy now so may rain again.... but that would be fine with me, we need it and would be better than snow,,, not ready for that yet....
Well off to mop - and clean up the kitchen- stick the sauce in the crock to cook and may start on living room ....

I'm taking it easy...but kinda in panic mode about the whole thing. The surgeon says I have to "get worse before I get better"...meaning there has to be a total blockage of my intestines before I have emergency surgery on it.....because he knows my guts inside and out and says he doesn't want to go anywhere in there he doesn't have to, because of the adhesions. So it's kinda one day at a time here.....

Cindy, if the gum happened to land on Spartucus, would that keep him out of your hair for a while? Kidding of course. Hope you're okay, we do worry. I'm at work and got a lot done today so there's not much left to do. Hello, Tina, Carol, Nana, and Bill. It's sunny down here but was gloomy this morning.

Back up for a little while...Spartacus keeps jumping on or running across my belly when I'm n the recliner, so I'm going to the bed soon. He won't get on me in the bed, except to start biting my face at 6am for me to get up and feed him.

Just got all the windows closed and thinking about turn the AC on now. It's hot...need another glass of ice water. I make the best ice water in the world.....I fill a big glass up with ice and put water in it.

How grateful I am for gas wood splitters. I just taught my older son how to use one. He is a very happy person. 20 years ago when he lived here, we used a maul and wedges to split. Splitters are a breeze in comparison. He will have all of my available wood split in no time.
But I still do not have enough to see me through the winter. Still looking for a place with reasonable prices.

I have tried for months to get someone interested in harvesting a few dozen cords of firewood... for FREE! Nobody seems to have any ambition for such projects anymore. I wish I could send it to you! I used to cut and split 10-15 cords every year for 20+ years. I wish I had had a gas splitter back then... why

I know. I've seen pictures of you using a maul or an ax or something. I don't remember which tool because I really was not looking at those. why grin
I have used about 10 cords a year until this year. I just don't have it nor the access we have had in prior years. I do live in a desert-y place and wood is sparser. In the national forest land all around you cannot even cut wood on your own land without a permit.
So I will use what I have when I get really, really cold. And bundle up between times.

Hi Tina,
Last time we bought wood it was 300 a truck load- about a cord and a half... but cut to size for our wood stove- mostly... we have had to cut some of it down smaller and when I say we I mean my son... or hubby...we have had mild winters the last few yrs so have a lot out there all ready to go if we get cold this winter..our weather people say we are going to warm back up to the 80's by end of the week, so we won't need it real soon.
I had boys here today- Derek had a tummy bug- and then Timba looked at me and said I really don't feel good Nana, felt his forehead and he was burning up.. he went home and went to bed- Carrie is planning to take him to doc tomorrow... think it may be strep.. now she has to disenfect the house tonit and keep timothy upstairs tomorrow.. she has Alli's boys tomorrow.. have to keep them from getting sick... we are supposed to get them all flu shots but have to wait till they quit being sick,
they can't have it if they have fevers, Alli had to have blood transfusion yesterday, on a good note she is doing well with her chemo and so is my nephew in Texas, he has lost all his hair and wears a beany cause he says he is cold but doing well otherwise and is even back to work for a week or so part time the next couple weeks till he goes in for another round, then only one more after that and he will be done...
Well off to bed now... got to bet up early to get grocery shopping done and be ready in case Carrie needs me to watch kids so she can take Timba to the doc, sure hope it's not strep....
Nana

Good morning. Today is another kid-to-school day and stopping to shop on the way home. My older son is to come up to cut and split more wood for me. So I will feed him. And then there are phone calls to make. I hate phone calls.

Take care of yourself, Cheryl.
I drove my son to school and stopped for his nutrition drinks on the way home. Those are put away and I made one phone call of two. Not sure why I feel I need a rest just from that. Maybe because I hate making phone calls?

I hate making phone calls, too....needed to make several today but only managed to get one off the list. One of the calls was to pay the internet bill....I always do that over the phone because it's always late. blush
Guess I better pay it tomorrow before they cut my internet off...

I just have a phone phobia. Part of that is hearing issues. I had to ask one lady to repeat herself several times today. Of course I was also writing down what she was talking about and that is an additional distraction.
I don't pay bills by phone or online. I am paranoid.
I am thinking it is bedtime. I have some shopping and banking to do tomorrow after I take Ted to school. In person.
Sweet dreams all.

Wow, no one's been here all day? I hate talking on the phone and generally try to avoid it, except to talk to close friends and family, who I'm already comfortable with. Work was a little crazy busy today but not too overwhelmingly so, which helped make the day go by faster. I had a really good run after work and then came home and made dinner. Now I'm sipping on some tea and relaxing for the evening.

I tried to stay in the chair all day, but had to go to the store finally. I'm talking like out of EVERYTHING....one can of tuna left was pretty skeery, since I knew if I opened it me and Spartacus would fight over it.

Yes, that is scary.
I feel I spent the whole day shopping. Mostly food. But I was buying some things for my daughter to take back to Los Angeles with her when she goes. She is coming home tonight, I think.
But I planned a nap into my day so it wasn't all shopping. I worked outdoors on fall clean up. We had some good winds blow through and make messes. It is hot here.

Only about 60 miles due east. And as she has a preference for doing that at night there isn't much traffic. It takes about an hour or so. But her SES light came on today. I'm hoping she can make it easily.

Yeah....60 miles can be a one hour trip or a 4 hour trip, depending on what time you drive it.

69.7 miles. I looked it up. But you have to go around some mountains to get here. It is about 60 miles as the crow flies.

Has she adjusted to her new living arrangements pretty well? 60 miles seems so far to me, but I don't like driving far. Here it would take more than an hour unless you drove late at night or early morning also. I think I'm going to grab my Nook and read myself to sleep. Good night!
