Well, if it were me, I fully intend to ask Emily to tell me how, if & when-- shewinks I think you need to ask Rachel or Brennan---THEN you need to write down what it is they tell you--(I know I would need to do that)

Before I am "done" I will have so many "books" around with information in it, I will spend most of my time looking thru them..

Rachel will be here this Sunday! thumbup

Good morning. My biggest plans of the day are to get my son to and from school. I am looking forward to a nap already. I need to crawl into bed earlier in the evenings.

Hope you feel better tomorrow Cindy.

Snow stopped and the wind has started, supposed to be a very cold night.

haha hahayou really make me smile when I thought about working outside, it is blowing 90mph out there with snow and COLD. (well maybe not 90) Guess that is why we built a green house last year, but my flower beds could use some work if you have an extra spade,
enjoy life

It should be cold like that here too, but I guess we have messed up the environment so much that I just dont know what kind of weather to expect any more.

and yes I do try to enjoy life..thanks
my youngest DD & her husband came by tonight & had supper with us...That was an unexpected treat.... thumbup shewinks

Good Morning !!!! Woke up early---

I was too warm to sleep well---that in itself was strange---but it is all good. Now I am up to drink my coffee in peace before I get ready to go get my glasses.

I am hoping my coffee kicks in soon. I sure just wanted to crawl back into bed.
Good Wednesday morning. I have no major plans again today. I am thinking of baking something though.

Good afternoon.

I just returned from the eye Dr (glasses) I have 4 pairs of frames with me to pick from---and I have enough $$$ in my bifocal lenses that I can buy a whole new pair (lenses * frames) of single vision glasses. The top # of my new bifocals was so slight that I get to wear reading glasses if i so choose--I so chose.

Tamara, what ya bakin' up ???
I stopped at my sister's to have her help me decide on frames--& she gave me 2 "muffin top" low cal healthy "muffin tops...I had one for lunch---yum !!!

bowSorry, Nana, that you had to drive in the mess. I am lucky that I almost never have to go out in it, as I work in my basement. Taking my lunch break, but I think I would rather be baking! Trouble with baking, then i want to eat it, tears and it just adds to my extra pounds. Have a warm afternoon

I think ya need to tell "someone" you need a new pair.

even a single vision pair would be better than none.

I hope that someone puts "his" cell phone in the toilet---

This is my first new pair since like 2007---(well I got a new pair of lenses last August and those are now being traded for this new pair
(lenses and frames this time)--

in 2007 I got new lenses & used my frames again)----

Well I didn't do the driving- me and driving out of my neighborhood just doesn't happen and never in the snow.. it is still coming down- just a little, got about 5 inches total right now..
Boys are here now- fed them and we are doing homework now, any ideas on how to explain how to multiply to a child who has to learn hands on- numbers on the page don't mean anything to him- he has to be able to touch the concept to "get" it- I think I will dig out the blocks in the basement and hope we have enough to explain the basics ... that may do the trick... sure don't think much of his special teacher this yr- she just yells at him and that sure is not what he needs... last yr's teacher was so good but he got transfered to another school.. budget cuts...
Well off to try and get some more homework done... got one on a computer working- and now we need to go do a couple sentences,
Back later...
Nana

Sherri :

If you do not have enough blocks, use your silverware---after all, if you have 3 sets of 3 spoons you can still count all 9 spoons---you don't have to have 3 x 10. although once he has that do this

have him write down on a piece of paper...
1x1=1 and all thru to 1 x 12 = 12 then begin with 2 x 1 = 2 & so forth to 2 x 12

all the way up to 12 x 12.

our 6th grade teacher did that for punishment--(talking in school was 7 sheets of the times tables) you could even get say assined to do up to 12 sheets---for whatever...

we all thought it was "cool" to write our times table up ahead of time--we thought how stupid can he be ?? we will show him!!!

Joke was on us---we learned our multiplication tables, did'nt we---I can still recite them to you---yea stupid teacher---NOT !!! Yea, Mr Polonius !! thumbup

Very much Welcme, Fabric!
I used M&M's or other small candies to explain. They can be an award for getting smaller numbers correct. Use buttons or beads or just about anything for larger numbers.

I love baking. I do not do as much as I used to because there are fewer people around to feed.

Thanks all for the ideas.. like the silverware one- I have lots of extra silverware.... from the days when it wasn't unusual to have 200 for a holiday dinner and I hate plastic silverware...LOL! hopefully it will work- Derek just hates change and getting him used to knowing he can do a new thing is one of the hard things for him... will try it tomorrow with the spoons..
Writing the tables was how I learned it too and we had a teacher that had us recite them as a group in class, do it enough you memorize them... we did them to the tune of the inchworm song- I still "hear" it when I have to think of them...LOL!
I am going to make french toast tomorrow- got some whole wheat bread to use for it- letting it get stale a little overnight so it will soak up the batter well... was going to do it today but getting up at 5 just took it out of me... it's only 8 and I am ready for bedtime....
Well I am off to take a warm bath... and then head to bed... am tired and even if I am up at 4 I need to go to sleep now..
Nana
