When I got home today found my Sun Conure Trent dead in the bottom of his cage He was very active and happy this morning as usual.
He was only 17 y/o



The other birds have called for him and looked everywhere for him had to move his cage out and all the birds raised the devil with me.

Thank you Lynne and Bill and cagardner and Nana: I try to give them all better homes then they had before. Amazon's and Stormy still call for him and look for him .When I started to put the cage outside last night Charley got between me and the door and Cracker was telling me off biting @ my hand, They are still very upset

Diane its just not the same of a morning when his light came on he would call me when I came home he would be the first to call out when I pulled in the drive, as you know from you calls today it is a lot quieter because he always loved talking to his aunt DiDi. Thanks Dodge! Was offered a free U2 (Umbrella Cockatoo) by my Dr's Nurse was given to her husband by a lady got too sick to care for it, the both work full time and can't take care of him so told me I could have him still debating whether I will/should or not.

A canary breeder is giving away birds here, he lives a 40 minute drive away. He is having health troubles and needs them to go to good homes. I was debating it, we used to have a budgie many many years ago but I know nothing about canaries.

Are they an easy bird to look after Jimmy?

Sunflowers I never had canaries only parrots,budgies and finches and Pigeons. One of my aunts use to have canaries are as easy to care for as budgies only males sing main thing keep cage clean always fresh food and water a good avian vet. is a must for all birds. Not a run of the mill vet. but one that knows and cares about birds my vet has several Parrots and is an expert on them. The office calls can be expensive but a healthy bird makes it all worth it.
