I was given a very young brown cockatiel today they said it was a Cockatoo very bad health right wing broken at first when I put seed in on the floor he ate some later gave him some formula once he got a taste of it he gobbled it right down when crop was about 1/4 full I stopped so as not to cause sour crop with too much at first hope is there for him he is in quarantine until I am sure he is OK. ![[Linked Image]](http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/greywolf1842/BIRDS/newbird.jpg) Diane grandsons have offered suggestions for name let me know what you think of each name . The names are Cocoa or chocolate chip,,CAPPUCCINO , and Oreo cookie LOL

Cocoa--it is short & will not lend itself to a nick name--& besides, he is chocolate colored after all

Thanks everyone; The little bird that looked more dead then alive after having been force fed formula 4 times a little bit @ a time is now getting on lower perch and talking baby bird talk seems to be a lot better thanks for all prayers and concerns.

Congrats on the newest addition Jimmy. It is so rewarding to nurse an animal back to health. I hope he continues to improve. Sounds like he is much happier already.

It is was great sadness I must report Cocoa died this morning snuggling under my chin. When I got up and went to feed him he came to the door chatting and got right in my hand and snuggled down I held him under my chin he made a cooing type sound and died. Thank you all for your support I told him how everyone was pulling and praying for him.

oh my goodness, I am so very sorry for your loss. I guess he was jsut too sick by the time you got him. Well it must be comforting to know that at least he was happy & well cared for in his last days. Blessings to you Jimmy.

thanks everyone it is very hard don't think I could stand anymore right now. I am comforted that he had love fresh food and water last 2 days of his life.Yesterday he played with toys chatted and called to me and the parrots I would go to his door he would come up wanting held which I did held him talked to him he was so attentive when I did the parrots came to his cage and talked to him although I know they would have killed him because he was weak. He had been starved and physically abused several feathers and been pulled out in clumps as if a cat had gotten hold of him . Once again thanks you all for your good thoughts and support.
