OOOh, I have the last one pictured with the pink flowers. It's been in my yard since we moved here 10 years ago and flowers every year. It's very pretty and now I know what it is! Thanks Bill! ~Beth~

wow I wanna move to CA---I have several cactus in houseplants---but only one almost bloomed a few years back & then just suddenly stopped---Either most are not root bound yet or I am doing something wrong-- & yes, I have just re-read Bill's information----some day I'll get it right I guess...perhaps I will repot them in different soil this summer...

Carol, Do you have your cactus in a place where they experience a natural day and night cycle?

If there is no frost danger, Easter cactus love it outside, in light shade. Give them more shade when it gets hot.

Mine is outside and gets some shade in the hottest part of the day. The cool thing about it is that it's in a pot with some bulbs. So the bulbs flower and die off, then the cactus flowers. ~Beth~

I put my cactus out one summer--sadly I put them on the west side of the house, bad mistake--- ---so they have been inside since---I guess I could try on the porch on the east side...

Carol, Do you have your cactus in a place where they experience a natural day and night cycle? I just saw this, and just about a whole year later--my bad.. But ti answer your question: where they are, (the one place in my house that I can put plants so they get some sun) is by my west facing glass sliding doors. some days we open the blinds there, some days we do not--- BUT I do tend to stay up late so they have some light (artificial) so that in the end they might get say 6-8 hours of darkness a night. Would that be enough ?? I did move them to the basement for a month before christmas--and when I brought them up, one is now going to give me 2 blooms.
