lol

Good morning, snow turned to rain...lost power through the night.

We can't use bark mulch here Tina...it draws in ants like crazy.

Baby shower to attend today..then a surprise birthday party for Dh's friends wife and father.

This is a laundry and general clean up day. I want to go out and work on my pond some more. Taking all of the rocks out and starting from scratch.

Productive so far today. Finished up a couple of things in the basement, washed and dried another load of laundry, only one more load to go. Helped DH try to clear the floor drain, no luck. It's sunny and going to be fairly warm today. I plan to go for a run and hopefully get a little work done outside.

Sounds like a busy day for all.
We had leftovers for lunch and am planning a very simple dinner. I got most of the rocks from my pond that I can reach from the sides. I will need to go wading the next time to finish. Maybe tomorrow afternoon unless it is still too hot. Today was mid 90's again. The pond is more than half empty. I will probably reline it after I get it cleared out. The lining will probably shred in my labors.

I just had a meeting, which was a 2 hour drive one way, then stopped at a nursery on the way home and bought a water lily, and star grass for my mini pond grin I hope to post pictures tomorrow. I didn't do much today but am tired!!! Have a good night all and sleep tight snooz

Good morning. I have no huge plans for today. I think I will just be following the family flow and doing what needs done for that. Getting ready for the new school week, etc.

Good Morning. All I got on today is scrapbooking. Were trying to finsh off two little ones from the wedding, on for each of our mom's for mothers day. Should be relaxing after yesterday.

Yesterday we went to the nursery to order 4 yards of dirt, went to see the accountant to finish taxes, dropped arco off at daycare, hit the local home show, visited with my mom for a while, picked up a few friends then headed out for another friends birthday party at bowling and a pub, picked up the dog and came home. Left home at 9am returned at 2 am, and boy am I tired today.

That's a long evening Shani.

We went out to a double birthday part last night...God I miss drinking. The night seemed to go on forever...back in the day I would have been too drunk to notice lol Pepsi just doesn't have the same effect.

Storming here...freezing rain then snow and freezing rain again. What a mess out there.

I cannot party like that any more. Aging changes you.
I completed what I really needed to do today and not much more. But my kid is ready for school this week. We are fed and just have a quiet evening to relax into.

It has been a very good day here. I like that it is warm but the last few days have been too warm. Today was mid 80's and that is liveable for me. It could stay between 75* and 85* all the time and make me happy.

Good morning. No rain today but later in the week. The thing is, rain is mostly a good thing here.
We are ready for school this morning. I just need to wake my bones up. Coffee helps.

it was not supposed to rain the night before last here, but it did---now I think we are supposed to get to go sevceral days w/o rain--we an only hope. Although I am thinking that it could well be a long dry summer, so I guess I should be grateful for what rain we do get.

Off to another Drs appt today---it'sd always something..... rolz--and I hear it will only get worse---

see you all later--- wavy

HI all,
Guess I should check in more often.. do come and read... been busy spring cleaning, and getting ri... d of stuff... hubby really wants to retire I think ,so we are going to go talk to a financial planner - see if we have enough to actually do it- health insurance is the big worry... always been paid for and untill we are old enough for medicare we will need our own... and if we have enough put away to last too... oh well it will work out...
I have the boys for the day today- they are doing the reading tests today- Carrie scheduled them all within the same hour and a half so it was easy to do this yr...

It's been beutiful this week.. high 70's all week and no wind so nice... been enjoying it... they say we may break some heat records...
Well off to get some lunch started for hungry boys... they seem to be bottomless pits recently- think they may be going to grow again, good thing it's summer and they have lots of shorts to wear... LOL!

There is interim insurance for some people, Cobra, that helps over the hump between retiring and the ages for medicare. Check it out too, Nana.

well true there is Cobra--but it is so costly--perhaps nana could find some local insurance to get her by un til they can get on medicare...even if it is only a catastrophic one--yoiu know with a very high deductable???

got my appt done & stopped in to see my sister--she is doing ok but is wore out, so I think she is over-doing...

Cobra was the cheapest we could find when John retired at 60. I hope Nana can do better.

Hi everyone. I hope Nana can find better insurance. Cobra is pricey. I had an ok day at work. Got some stuff done early for the week. Come Thursday I'll be happy about that. Today is one of those days I wish I wasn't a girl. Tired and blah. Other than that I'm feeling pretty good. We finally have spring. It's been mostly in the low to mid 60's, yesterday I think it got to about 75, and sunny. We've had the same weather for the most part since September and it was getting really old.

Nana

We know the feeling. My DH is 70 and will retire at the end of June, but he robbed the cradle and now we are paying for it! I won't be medicare elegible for 8 years. For the past year I have been looking into insurance for myself, with little success. The company he works for will allow us to carry their insurance; about 600 a month for me. But because of the skin cancer this is our best bet. The "law" will not allow insurance companies to exclude pre-existing conditions, but what an insurance company can do is place a "rider" on the policy to exclude something, or charge more in order to cover the pre-existing condition! So I will continue to work, but hopefully not as much, more to cover insurance than anything else! After all I need to take those wonderful summer months off the gardern and take motorcycle rides! Good Luck with your search, Nana

same here, that's all mine talks about is retiring and I'm 10 years younger, I know I'll have to work some, we paid the house off last oct, so that'll be a big difference between what type of job I'll have to get. I've worked off and one the whole time, Just hope when the time comes I can get something not too bad

Just spent hours outside, it's cold out there but I plan to get my outdoor chores completed.

I had a nice white picket decorative fence I made years ago, thought just the pickets needed replacing. Boy was I wrong. I had to tear the whole thing out and start over. I just finished cutting all the pieces, just need to stain them tomorrow and wait to put it together. The cracks in the paint held the water and caused it to decay. While I was at it, I expanded the flower bed in front of it another two feet.

Now I need hot tea and a warm blanket thumbup
