Hi all,
We have clouds building up today.. supposed to get some rain - sure hope so, it is so dry. they are saying we will be water rationing this yr cause snow in mts melted to early....
I will be asking lots of questions of our financial planner ... I am not good at the deciding what is best to do now and for the future.. just do not want to end up like my Mom sick and no insurance or back up plan...
Well going to go find some lunch and get the vacuum out - for some reason(boys) I have rocks all over my house again... LOL!

Hope you can work it all out Nana.

Calling for snow here again..what gives? Jeepers, just when it dries up a bit...bam, we get it again.

On a good note, I bought some potato seed today.

I wish I had room for potatoes---perhaps I should get me a container & plant some.....Sorry about the crazy weather, Sunny. Hopefully it straightens up sooner rather than later...

The critters around here would love for me to grow them some taters. I am not prepared to do that for them. They already do too much damage to my ornamental plants.

Just dropping in before the next round of tornado warnings starts again. I went outside a few minutes ago and thought I was going to have to swim....the water is standing about 6" in the yard. Air conditioner broke again....now it is (allegedly) fixed again.

Here's a quick picture of the robin that built a nest in Rachel's potted plant on her porch...I'll get all the pics together from the start of the nest to now (4 babies!) and put them in Critter Corner.

That last one missed us head on...the next county got most of it. The storms earlier and all night last night were bad...the thunder shook the house. It was good sleeping weather, except it was too hot to sleep and I couldn't open the windows because of the storms. Plus, Spartacus gets askeered when it storms, and he kept trying to literally pull me out of the bed all night. He is such a freaky cat! I love to sleep when it's storming... snooz

last night towards the end of the storm, my dog, Dante, kept pawing at me, he wanted me out of the bed, I am thinking because he knows we usually go to the basement when the weather radio goes off, and it did---So I get out of bed & then he wanted outside----so he could lay on the porch & watch the lightning-- rolz
I finally had to go out with a lead & pull him in the house....

Night night---sweet dreams everyone---I like sleeping in the rain--the heavier the better

Hi all,
We got a lot of thunder and lightning.. it gets so loud echoing off the mtns... then it poured for 4 min and was over and done with... hope other areas get more- they had tornado watches east of us... the plains..
I am not a good sleeper in storms... never have been,to light a sleeper any noise wakes me or keeps me awake...
In AZ our Shadow didn't like thunder at all, one time he jumped about 8 ft onto our bed to get away from the noise , or for me to protect him... scared me to death cause he never came in our room- he slept in our tile entry way... outside our room.. he was such a good dog.. still miss him.
Made a chicken dish with creamy garlic sauce tonit for dinner.. had bell peppers and spinich in it... served over rotinni- was really good.. Joe didn't like it much- cause of the spinich,if he didn't grow up eating it he thinks it's not edible... his mom served corn- beans and thats about it... canned ... I have gotten him to eat asparagus, lima beans, peas,brocolli.. and working on spinich now..LOL! only taken 35 years..
Well have to go clean up kitchen now... going to try and get to bed before 11 tonit... have boys after school tomorrow.. and tomorrow is laundry day...
Nite everyone... love the pic Cindy...

You are busy, Nana.
I grew up eating spinach all kinds of ways and loved it. But in my 20's I developed an iron intolerance that makes spinach not want to stay with me any more.
I am slowly edging my family towards more and more fruits and vegetables. For myself I decided if I eat a cup of pasta then it needs to be accompanied by an equal amount or more of veggies and or fruits, etc. Equal measurements or weights or similar things. I am burying veggies in just about everything. Not hiding but showing my family that carrots and peas in the mac 'n cheese is not a bad thing.
I cannot go to a grocery store or roadside stand and pass by vegetables.

I have to keep busy to keep moving... if you don't move you lose it they say...LOL1
I do the puree thing a lot to hide veggies from the boys... their parents don't make them eat them very often so I add it to stuff I know they already like... like boxed mac and cheese... 1/2 cup or so of sweet potato puree and they gobble it down... keep it in containers in the freezer and add them when they aren't looking...
We are making pizzas tomorrow and I will chop up some spinich to go on it... if it's tiny they don't seem to mind it mixed in sauce...
I add veggies to rice and all sorts of sauces too, either purees or as is ... works well for us...
Well it's late I need to go to bed and hopefully sleep .. it's still thundering in the distance... rain is predicted off and on thru the weekend...

I am crying so bad right now. tears
Awhile ago something (neighbor's dog/cat/???) knocked Rachel's robins nest over on her porch and killed all of them.

She and Brennan are having a funeral for them in a few minutes...burying them. tears

Just in for a minute, we had an unexpected death in the family(brother-in-law). I won't be around much for a few days...just a heads up.

Been outside working all day out side. Been digging up bulbs that are in the way of where my storm shelter will be going.

Sunny, sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family. prayers

Yikes, Belinda, hope you don't have to disrupt too many of your beautiful flowers. What an undertaking! Are you having this done, or doing it yourselves?

They didn't lie...it is snowing tapfoot It is 34 outside, so I'm hoping it doesn't get any colder. I popped outside for a minute to inspect my bleeding hearts and a few other flowers and everything seems to be doing ok, hope it stays that way! I know we need the moisture, but rain would have been fine nervous

Have a wonderful Saturday

No damage. I have lived here most of my life and you do get used to them. But I also have lots of disaster prep done in case. This is just a a reminder from Mother Nature to makes sure all of that prep is in order.
I can look out my front window and see the San Andreas fault across my little valley. I can walk out my back door and step over another lesser fault in less than 25 feet. I have to be about as ready as I can. But I love it here too. And quakes are exciting.
