Glad you got rain, Tina. We are still dry, dry, dry!

Off to Sheridan, WY today, about another 5 hour round trip! I am involved in putting on the Wyoming State Quilt Guild Conference this year, the conference is next week and we have our last get-together today before the big event! No wonder my car has 150,000 + miles on it!

Uncertainty about the future is always a little scary, Carol. After all the confusion about my DH retiring, I've found out I can only stay on his company insurance, after he has retired, for 3 years yikes That is not going to take me to 65! So I have to find a job myself! One that has insurance. Not much in our little town. I've heard about an opening as a bus driver aid for the handicap bus...for the school. This would be great for me if I can get it, only 4 hours a day which would still qualify me for insurance, and I could still do some quilting! And summers off! Not a lot of money, but insurance why I can only hope!

Well not much time this am, Have a Great Sat flwr

Good morning everyone---I have been up, drank coffee on the deck and then watered my flowers & veggies. Came in & made hummingbird nextar & am currently washing clothes....and waiting for my medication....again today....and I even spoke to a person & it still happened.

so s orry to hear that Bobbie----DH has thought of the insurance thing. he will only have to work for 9 months over his retirement age for me to have ins. As a side note, his cousin, who is 68, (wife is about 63) had either a stroke or a heart attack (they are not sure) at work last week. he drives a truck for a farm service & was at a farm out in this heat loading his semi when it happened. Fine commentary on our economy, huh???.

Did you look into private insurance, Bobbi? Sometimes paying it yourself can be worthwhile if you are relatively healthy. It was not much more than the medicare extra coverage that you need to purchase anyway when you are eligible. If it is feasible, you can quilt your way to healthcare.
Good morning. I am caring for vacationing neighbor's pets this weekend. Up early to feed and let their dogs out and feed and scoop for the indoor cats. I am very grateful that they no longer have horses.

Good morning. Up and at'em this morning. I was off down the road to care for my neighbor's pets this morning and back by 6 am. Laundry is going while it is cool.
Temps are down today and I feel a little energized.

I think people are dumping their stray animals off in front of your house...perhaps you should open a shelter & make some money at this--- why

would you happen to have a spare shed that you could turn into a shelter ???

Cute kitty! Gonna name it something outlandish? How does Sparta feel about the new meal? I mean, new playmate?
I have filled my two trash cans with sorted material. And found another $30 Home Depot gift card that John never used. This is why I am sorting.
My laundry is done. Dinner is in the crockpot.
Nap time.

Spartacus is very mad about the kitten....I think if he gets the chance he would kill it. He has attacked me several times since I brought it inside...I am still holding a washcloth on my foot trying to stop the bleeding where he laid me open awhile ago. He doesn't remember that HE was born outside 2 years ago to a stray cat that someone threw out....

You DO understand the male cats "relationship" with kittens, don't you ??? DO NOT let them be together....

"Guinevere" is a good name--as is "Tika"---and they are "different"

Male cats can kill kittens. Most of the time, they do not. I am not sure about Sparta, though. He plays really rough. I would not keep a cat with his use of claws around.

Like Tina says, Sparticus is so agressive I would not take the chance--Soooo you either keep them apart for like 6--12 months, or you find this little kitty a new home (I am assuming that finding Sparticus a new home is not an option)........

I just got Lola in bed (late because I had company) and got the kitten out of the bathroom. Spartacus went ballistic on me and now I am bleeding in four more places on my hand and arm. I would never have thought he would be like this.....he is more spoiled than I thought...and I knew he was pretty damn spoiled.

I don't know anyone who would take this kitten...I would pay for shots and spaying if I could find a good home for her, and I can't really afford that but I don't have pets that are not spayed or neutered. I don't really have any friends in "real life"...so I don't know how to find a good home for her. I am so upset about this.....but God gave me Spartacus out of the blue, and God put this little kitten on my doorstep this morning....so I guess it will work out.....

I have often wondered if getting a kitten would help Spartacus settle down....he wants outside so bad and I can't let him out here or he will get hit by a car. I hope he can get used to this kitty...I feel so sorry for her. I actually think Sparta's dad might be the daddy of this kitten...it is polydactyl, and that is a trait among Maine Coon cats.

I haven't actually 'looked' but since it's calico I assume it is a female, since calico cats are almost always female...some weird "one X and one Y chromosome" thing that happens. I have never seen a male calico. I feel much better about it being a girl kitty...I don't want a pissing match with 2 male cats here...lol

Good luck with your new addition, Cindy. How is the new dog doing? Wish I could help, but not sure my DH would allow a cat. And we are gone too much, although he is talking about getting another dog. It has been a year since we lost Corky, I need to get her picture to you, I think I have decided I would like her picture below the Garden Helper image. It is getting to the point it doesn't hurt as bad, I smile more when I think of her rather than cry!
Off to sleep snooz snooz

Pets do take some thinking if you want to travel. We went to New Zealand for 6 weeks and left our dog with a neighbor. Another neighbor came by to feed the 2 cats daily and to water my posies. But it does take some planning.
Sweet dreams all.

You have a kind heart Cindy kissie hoping it all works out.

I got up at 6 but the cr@ppy weather has be moving slow. Rain, rain and more rain...ugh.

Had a busy weekend..a lot of family coming home from away to visit my grandmother, she had a few bad spells last month.

I tackled my daughters apartment yesterday. I threw away a garbage can full of useless stuff and re-arranged her spare room. She has this thing with saving papers and boxes. I told her that the next time she spends the week end at a friends place that I am going on a 'throw away binge' at her place lol

I am sorry your grandmother is not well, Sunny.
Good morning. I slept in after being up in the night. Our weather is back to wonderful. And we may get more rain the end of the week. But then I wonder when the other shoe will drop and we will begin burning up. Which is normal weather but not really so nice.

Good Morning:

I have a day full of phonecalles & errands today---BUT I think I will get my 2 hours of embroidery in for first---that way any work that I do on the blanket tonight will be extra work done. (I have imposed an manditory 2 hours work on myself every day of the week until this blanket is done.)
Rod has gues-timated that it will take me around 100 hrs to get it done--& I only have like 7-8 weeks time left to get it done. & we all know that baby's come when they like not on schedule--

So far I have the eyes, flowers, & words done on the whole blanket. This weekend I have completed the leaves on 3 of the 6 animals.

Today I need to go get my Dogs flea & tick & heartworm medication & to see about getting arthritis medication again. (Vet would not give it to me last time I went to aske about it)

That sounds like a good plan,Carol. I got my phone calls out of the way so I am getting ready to do a bit of shopping. It is hard to keep up on fresh stuff sometimes when we're on vacation and not going regularly into town.

Lunch sounds good. I went shopping. I picked up fresh fruits and veggies, bread and milk. I also loaded up on booze on sale. Gifts for Christmas and maybe other occasions. Getting a head start while prices are good.
I will need to eat something then nap,I think. I was up in the night for awhile.
