Hi all,

I actually slept in today - till almost 9 .. wierd for me but felt good...Joe got up early to give Joseph his ride to work- he lets him drive to get in practice...got to get him his license before he goes back to school...

We went out for breakfast, then to Target to get a new ipod charger for the car.. ours dissapeared somewhere... got a new lawn chair for Joe too- hard to find one that isn't to low for him but they had a good one... then went and picked up boys for the day here... made them tuna noodles for lunch and now have a kitchen to clean up... going to make a birthday cake too for Jon - he is 37 today! and it's almost their 12 anniversary too...time sure has flown !

Joe worked on yrd this morning- had to pull out a bunch of Iris that had quit blooming and was up against fence- rotted out old fence with the watering so wasn't a good place for it anyway..giving some to neighbors and replanting rest in side bed away from fence later when it cools off...

Well off to do cake and finish up the laundry... got my new clothesline up yesterday finally... sure don't make them very strong- bet it doesn't last nearly as long as the old one did...
Nana

I think they don't make anything as well as in the old days. I cannot think of a thing right now.

I stayed in 'the chair' til 3am, awake...then got in bed. I bet I rolled over from one side to the other at least 500 times...never could sleep. Was watching the clock and at 8am I finally felt like I could sleep...but I had to get up in 30 minutes to get Lola up...so I laid there for 30 minutes trying NOT to go to sleep... touched

Tomorrow after I get back from the doctor I'm giving this kitten a bath. It's nasty...skin and hair are caked with dirt.

Have fun bathing the cat. They sure look small and helpless until you approach a tub of water and try to put them in.
I hope you can sleep tonight.

My Cheerios and I thought we would make a late night walk thru... rolz

yea, you might want to reconsider bathing the cat--perhaps a wet wash rag might be the way to go. She could well get teh rest herself.. why

I cannot sleep. I worked about 6-7 hours today on the quilt---(now all the leaves are done, & up next is the 6 baby animals) & I am all wide awake---oh well---

Cindy & Tina, I hope that you both get to sleep well..

Good morning all, rain is supposed to hold off until 2 pm...so I am off to cut my hay field of a lawn. I hate cutting wet grass but it's the only way to get it done these past weeks.

I wish some of this rain would stay further South for some of you.

Have a good day all...back in later.

Good morning. I did sleep well last night. I got up and began dusting and cleaning windows and things. Before even turning on my computer. Or getting my coffee.
I have my coffee and my computer now. I am waiting for businesses to open up to make a couple of phone calls. And for my daughter to wake so I can run the vacuum.
I is cool enough that I am wearing a sweatshirt this morning.

Well, Sunny, I am pretty certain you would not have been wearing a sweatshirt this morning. Everything is relative. Our overnight lows and mornings are about 15*C and our highs are between 30-35*C.
I got busy with my vacuum cleaner today. Good stuff. But a nap is heading in my direction soon.

Cat Day From Hell here.
I am trying to stop the bleeding from 3 large wounds on my hands...blood thinners are wrecking havoc on me right now.
Long story short....this is not the only kitten from that elusive litter that is here...I am so upset I have been trying to stop the bleeding and crying over this new kitty for the last hour, when me and 2 neighbors finally caught it and got it back outside. Will give the full story when I am not bleeding on the keyboard....

kissie Cindy. Can you call an animal rescue group to help you?

Still raining here...good gosh I am fed up, as well as my cucumber plants. They are doing so poorly.

Updating my 'fix-it' list today..no matter how hard I try....it just keeps growing.

I also need to hit up the hardware store in town this week..my SIL said that they are selling all their 'mis-tinted' gallons and quarts of paint for $5..she said there were tables of stuff on clearance. I get excited even thinking about it lol

OH! Cindy, take care of yourself first. So sorry someone was irresponsible with their cats.

It is so hot and dry here, Sunflowers, right now I can't imagine having too much rain. And our heat this summer!! Supposed to get to 103 (40c)on Sat! We live in WY it is not supposed to get this hot. Everyone here is miserable. Yes, we get accustomed to where we live. I wear shorts all year long, even in the winter. Not if I am going to be outside for any length of time, but if I am just running errands, it is too warm inside stores! My winter coat is my denium overshirt! I am going to take pictures of my front flower bed this am....the deer and antelope are demolishing it. They have never done that before! I wish they would just chow done on my lawn, not my flowers. tears We actually did get a smiggen of rain yesterday, but we got more hail than rain and only lasted about 5 min, but I probably did get some rain water in my barrels. grin

Off to Wy State Quilt Guild Conference tomorrow. I have helped put it on as it is in our region this year. Been a lot of work and I am glad it is almost over! But tomorrow the fun starts and I get to see a lot of friends that I don't get to see too often.

Have a great Wednesday flwr

Bobbie

Good morning.
I hope you have fun at your quilt conference, Bobbi.
Sunny, I know you wish you could share the rain where it is needed for everyone like I wish to share sunshine.
I have more deer here this year due to lack of rain in the area, Bobbi. But not enough to really do a lot of damage. Yet. I do a lot of planting with deer resistant plants because the other critters seem to resist them too. And surround the delicacies with garlic and such. That really helps as well. I am also keeping water out for them away from my plants.
It is another cool morning. The sunrise is lovely with deep pink clouds. It could rain on us again this week. That would be nice.

I'm probably the closest thing to a 'rescue group' in this town. We have a dog catcher...they also take cats, which 99% of them are all euthanized. I'm going to keep this pitiful one inside and the one I caught last night is outside after it attacked me so bad. It can get in my basement (that's where it went last night after the neighbor came in here and caught it with a net and took it out). I put food down there for it today but didn't see it. It is WILD. I guess the only reason I could catch the first one is because it was about dead from starvation...it is half the size of the one last night.

You are going to be the local cat lady at this rate, Cindy.
I had a good day. Got a bit accomplished with paperwork this morning. And then my sons and I took off exploring. Teddy got to feed baby deer and pet bunnies and a guinea pigs and a huge tortoise. We ate fast food for lunch. It was a pretty good time. And then I got a nap for an hour when we got home. Dinner was leftovers. That topped off a very good day.

Hi all,

We have seen deer close to our house in the open spaces for the first time this yr- they have to be looking for food and water since it is so dry everywhere.. Joe said he saw two crossing the 4 lane highway just outside our subdivision- there is a walking trail on either side.. said the bigger one looked like it was looking both ways before it crossed in the the lot beside the church on the other side of the road... we have a raccoon in the neighborhood too.. was living in our across the street neighbors yard but he got it to move out .. don't know where it went to live but we still see it once in a while in the evenings... we have a lot of rabbits ususally but a hawk lives behind us the in phone company lot and that has cut down the rabbit population quite a bit this yr... still have a few though..

We have a kid free day tomorrow so are going to try and go do something fun.. may just drive up in the mtns and have a day trip... has to be some cooler up there- been in the 90's for weeks now.. though it did cool off tonight for a change , could actually turn off cooler and open house .. nice.

Well better get myself ready for bed and hopefully sleep for a change- this not sleeping is for the birds... seems like I go to sleep about 3 am and wake up at 7 no matter what,,, crazy!

Wow, did I hear Nana right? A kid free day lol

Glad you had a nice day out Tina. Bobbie, it almost never gets warm enough here for shorts.

Cindy, I am sorry that you don't have a shelter...we have a great one here. In fact the vet even started a 'foster' program until animals can be rescued.

Calling for a rain free day...and I have to take my mom to town and run errands. Oh well, I have to pass the grandbabies house so I guess I'll steal her early grin

Re-did my fix-it list yesterday..I need more money lol

Visiting the new second hand shop today...makes a bargain gal like me so excited haha

Good morning.
My fix it list always grows faster on the bottom than I can tick off things on the top end. And for some things I need to hire an expert with equipment.
I am constantly learning new things though. Which pleases me a lot.
It is warmer this morning than it has been. I hope all have a wonderful day.

Learning new things is the best therapy for boredom.

I bought a wooden dresser today for $20...just needs the previous 4 layers of paint stripped.

It is still raining, my garden is drowning...and it is freezing out there today.

Just got the computer and electric back on, now I have to turn the computer back off again...the next storm is getting closer faster than I thought. Hope the electric stays on this time...it's still 90 degrees at almost 10 pm.

Good morning. It looks like spam for breakfast around here.
I hope you get your rainless day, Sunny. It is a much warmer morning here than it has been. It will be a hot day again. And one of my coolers broke on me yesterday. It is a relatively simple fix though. If you have the hand strength to deal with it. And it is one of 3 coolers and not one I rely on heavily. So we will be OK until it is repaired.

morning--(well mid-morning)

No rain here although it is not scorching yet today--(but give it time I guess)

Grand dogs & kitty are coming over today for a 10 day vacation while "mom & dad" go to Florida. Wish I were going to Florida-

bad news is they had fleas---I sure hope they are gone, there will be no living with Rod if they are not---

it has been so hot here triple digits every day---and it has not been fun--I am dreading to see my water bill this next month. they keep forcasting rain but we get none.

I wish everyone a great day--keep cool---

I hope the fleas have been taken care of too, Carol. That would cause me to behave much as Rod would. I could not blame him. I would also not choose this season to head for Florida. I do like my non-humid heat above the alternatives.

Prayers for the people involved in the theatre shootins---it is all over the news here as well.

I too am worried about the fleas. She posted on FB that she was frustrated & was much in need to a vacation---well if I get fleas there are going to be big problems, but I cannot say no to her???--I do so wosih she were boarding her kitty though.

about the trip to florida--her DH's sister planned this, and I am thinking she had no clue as to what the weather would be when she did...Now if only val does not get heat stroke---Both my girls are easily worn down by the sun.

You can get pills called 'Capstar' that start killing the fleas immediately...you can see the dead fleas fall right off the animal about 30 minutes after you give it to them. I got these for Spartacus and it didn't kill him, so I guess they are safe. They are kinda expensive, though, if you have more than one animal.

Thank you Cindy--but yes, Thye have been washed & treated & then yesterday morningn she took them outside & then gave them all 3 some of the capstar. Then she brought me an extra dose for all 3 dogs (mine included) and a 1/4 dose for the cat.

But again thank you so much for the information.

od gets up early & once
Thor" sees that somebody i s up, he gets all antsy to go out---Rod thinks all animals should wait---so I got up & took "Thor" out. He got to feeling bad & he brought Luna out after me.

They can wait for breakfast until 7 I think. I wo uld love to go back to sleep.

It is only 64 outside now--I should really go and do some yard work---but the bed sounds better-- why

Good morning. I won't let my dog go out until daylight. Mostly because of the coyotes. If he insists, I will take him out on a leash. He is too old to be chasing coyotes and doesn't know it yet.
I have no major plans for my day. As the heat rises, my energy levels sink. And it is to be hot today.
