Hi Im hoping someone knows what this is!
My avacado plant is about 3 months old and growing fine. recently these leaves (not avacado) started growing in the soil. kinda round with spiky ends. I went to remove it today and the leaves brushed my wrist. Now (10 minutes later) theres tiny bubbles starting to grow.

Does anyone know what this plant is?? The avacado is an indoor plant and only thing I planted in that pot.

adding: Ive taken a banadryl just to be on the safe side. Also, when the leaves brushed my wrist it felt like a bunch of tiny needles. Ive looked online and nothing.

Welcome, d-girl. It sounds a little like poison oak/ivy/sumac. It would not matter which really as you obviously react pretty strongly to it. Wear disposable gloves if more crop up. And turn the gloves inside out when removing. There are many meds on the shelves to help with any discomfort you may have beginning with calamine and getting even better.

How did poison oak grow in my avacado plant??? I grew it from a seed indoors and used store bought soil. Im totally clueless to poison oak and how it comes about. Someone please fill me in!

Thanks Tina

I am not sure how the seeds got into your plant. I have poison oak around and the birds eat the berries. Then they leave me gifts of the seeds well fertilized. But it isn't that hard to get rid of. Make sure you wear your gloves though.
