I have just started growingpotatoes. I have grown two sets of potatoes. I harves them after the plants have started dying. The potatoes dont get very big. 90% of them are less than 3/4 in in diameter. Does anybody know why?
Here we keep potatoes in the ground close to 5 months to get the right size but I'm in eastern Canada...wondering if the heat damaged your plant tops before they were ready??
We have a member here from California..I'll ask her about it.
BTW: Did you 'hill' up your potatoes as they grew??
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
It was probably heat. If I were growing taters, I would be planting them right about now through, maybe, February. They prefer cooler weather. And that would depend on what part of California I was in.
