I left my over grown bean pods on the bush which weren't quite dry enough to pick for seed in hopes they would dry and I could store them soon. Well a few days ago, we got a big frost, the leaves were black and wilted but the pods looked alright. Can I still use them for seeds or are they no good? I'm having a hard time trying to dry the pods.

If the pods were still good, the seeds inside probably are too. Just make sure they are thoroughly dry before storing the seeds or thew will mold or mildew.

Thank you Tina. I will have to chalk it all down to experience. Most of them are no good even though they looked big and full when I picked them. Even though some of the pods have dried, some of the beans inside are wilted or discolored.
Guess the frost did get to the insides. I still have half a tray of bean pods drying, put them out every day, but they are taking so long, so it could be that these were frozen through out as well. Who would think that the shell offered no protection for the bean seeds inside, at least no protection one could count on?
