Good morning. It will be a quiet day and a quiet weekend. I don't have any exciting plans. It should be cool enough to bake something.

Bill, I will see what I can do. There are a few pumpkin farms here and a place that has their yard full, as a draw to sell them---I will go ASAP & take pictures--probably next Monday.
It is supposed to rain today.

I made some "Homemade Candy Bars" but my candy thermometer does not have longer marks for the even numbers, so I miscalculated 250*F for the caramel. It is not burned but it is hard like brickle. I will buy a better marked Thermometer before I make this again.

Washing LOTS of dishes & washing clothes is on my agenda today. Which is good as it is supposed to storm & rain today.

Went to a road side stand and got a few pumpkin pics....(made a new topic where we can put our pics for Bill).

Picked Abacat up from the vet...hated having to part with $108 but I can't handle a cat in heat, even though she has never been outside since I found her and never will. When I got her home and opened the cat carrier she ran into the bedroom and is deep in the closet somewhere, and won't come out. I hate that...but this had to be done, and now it's over with. She's young...she'll get over it....especially when she decides she wants some food or water, which she hasn't had since 9pm night before last.

Wishing I would hear some news about Cheryl's husband.... prayers

It was wet and windy here yesterday...but nice today.

Sparta decided to act up when I brought Abby home...he kept hissing at her like he did when I first found her. Then he attacked ME! He sliced my toe open pretty good...I glued it back together with Super Glue...it hurts bad. After a few hours he was fine...not mad at me or Abby anymore. He's got issues.... touched

A guy came here this morning taking up donations for the local volunteer fire department. When he saw Spartacus he jumped back like Sparta was a wildcat...good thing this was BEFORE Sparta's temper tantrum....lol ...or Sparta would have attacked him.

I have sen them act like that before--i think it is the smell of the anesthetic/ smell of the vets office, on the incoming animal.--I could be wrong but it is odd how it happens when they come home from the vets. why

Good morning. I am up but could easily go back to bed. I may do that. I have no big plans for today. I will follow my younger son around and clip some hair and nails this weekend. And there is laundry to do. There is the never-ending-dust to deal with.
We could get some drizzly rain over the next few days but I still need to water constantly.
I will probably go online and cruise for holiday gift ideas. I give my adult kids money but like to have a gift or two wrapped to go with. Well, my youngest is an adult as well, but he doesn't count. He could care less about money.

I won't be doing Christmas this year...again. I am living off borrowed money at this point, since they cut my SS off. Last year I made foot soak stuff for everyone (Junie's recipe). I found a box full of old silverware in my storage a few weeks ago. I need to go through it and separate the real silver from the silver-plate...and make windchimes out of the silver-plate ones...that would be a good no-cost present.

That would be an excellent gift, Cindy. I make home made stuff for neighbors (and booze that I stockpile for a long time). You reminded me that I have to make sure at least one of my drill batteries is charged up. I have some drilling to do.

I've got a headache. I'm trying to vote. California has so much garbage on the ballot. Contradicting junk. There is a bunch of reading to do. I am just glad I can vote by mail in the comfort of my own living room.

Hey everyone. Winding down here at the hospital. We usually go home for the night between 10 and 10:30. I think I'm going to try a short run in the morning and see if it helps blow off a little stress. Thanks for thinking of me and I'll try to remember to update regularly. If I don't I'm sure Cindy will get it out of and report back.

I get the absentee ballot because there are no close polling places. But I think almost anyone can get an absentee ballot.

I am trying to resist laying down. I never napped today. I got my ballot to the PO and took my older son home. It was too drizzly wet to do much outdoor work. I made a double batch of oatmeal pancakes for the freezer (thank you, Cindy). Laundry is done and beds are all freshly made. Ted is clipped and bathed. He chose dinner tonight so that is done, eaten and cleaned up.
I will just veg for the rest of the evening.

I was up all last night sick...so I have done nothing today.
Abacat sleeps right by my face, either in the bed or in the chair...and I am very allergic to cats. Going to have to get a different sleeping arrangement. Sparta never gets on me...won't set in my lap, hates to be picked up. If he does (rarely) sleep with me it's at my feet. Not used to having a cat sleep right on my chest 2 inches from my nose.

I used to have a kitten that slept across my neck. It was sweet when he was small but as he gained weight, it was not so sweet. I just moved them away from the face. It worked for me.
I am counting the seconds until I can have Ted reasonably go to bed so I can. Good night all.

Good morning. I am up well before my alarm this morning. I tried going back to sleep, but it is not happening. They are working on the railroad tracks nearby, I think. I am sure I will be napping later today.
Working to make sure animals are fed is a good thing, Sunny. Just because you don't have a small pet does not mean you cannot appreciate their place in our lives.
We have damp drizzly stuff out there. I am not complaining at all. It is much more pleasant than our normal October dry winds with their fire danger.

I'm a first time voter and had it sent to the school. Although I already knew the majority of the votes I was placing it's been useful for the state elections because I haven't heard much on them and can spend some time looking into the candidates. I'm not sure how I'd manage to place an informed vote without this luxury.

Sunflowers, it's interesting how a good chunk of the world gets involved in our politics but most of us don't pay enough attention to what goes on in the rest of the world. It bothers me quite a bit that not enough people pay attention.

I went shopping this weekend. A store named DEBs near me had a huge sale that I accidently walked into. The had jeans and shorts for $7 and a mixed-rack for $3. I bought a $3 tanktop, 3 pairs of shorts and 3 pairs of jeans. I'm so happy. Jeans usually cost $20 or more for me!

Ive loved houseplants ever since I was a kid, my grandmother taught me. Majored in Floriculture in High School.

I use a battery alarm clock. I don't trust my electricity to stay on.
I got my kid to school and stopped to shop at two stores. Came home and have boneless pork chops in the slow cooker with some onions. Not sure what else I may do with that but whatever is it it will be with smashed taters. There will be leftovers for another day or two.
I sat and did financial stuff and wrote out my property tax check.
I just need to stay awake until it is time to pick my boy up from school.
