Sweet dreams,Bill.
I napped hard this afternoon. But I don't think it will interfere with sleeping tonight.
I use propane to heat water and can drip it through a coffee filter into a cup if I have no electricity. I like to think I can live without electricity if I need to. I would miss my computer though.

Drugging up and going to sleep. MIL has ordered me to rest and sleep in so alarms are off. I have no coffee beans for the morning.

Rest well Cheryl kissie

Bill, hoping you have hot coffee this morning.

Tina, I keep a mini propane camping stove here for emergencies...it has those little propane containers that hook into it. Mind you most times when the power goes out...it's just to cold to go outside to use it lol

Another cold day here...time to start grandbabies quilt later.

It is cool and wet here this morning. I don't think we have had measurable rain, just drizzle and enough to make my van a muddy mess without rinsing it off. The worst part of living on dirt roads.
In winter I keep water on my wood burners constantly. I have instant hot water. I mostly keep it to add humidity to my mostly dry air. But having a jump start on hot water is always good too. Hot water and coffee bags and I can face just about anything.

Rachel has that "instant hot water heater thingy"....pretty neat.

We are going to have many spammers tonight...I've just looked at all their new member "profiles" and they are on a roll. Is there a full moon or something?

Today the waxing moon is 67.24% full. So you only have about 67% of the nut jobs. Next full is on Oct 29. Then you can see 100% of the lunatics.

Holy poofing lol

Still giggling over Tina's post thumbup

Well, I can't put it off any longer...today I will finish putting my wood into the shed. Need to fill it to the 'brim', Winter will be here to stay any day now.

I also need to cut my wood pieces to make my spice rack..do you know they don't sell wooden spice racks anymore..I even tried second hand shops and had people looking at yard sales for me. Buying online was a fortune so I spent some birthday money on some nice clear pine boards..Hoping to make it tomorrow. grin

I pulled an all-nighter last night---I wasn't feeling well, & so I slept from 2 to 4 yesterday---been awake since-- egad

Good morning. I like the idea of building your own spice rack. You can make it to the size to fit the space you have.
Another school day ahead. Wednesdays are my hardest day to gain any enthusiasm for. I am not sure why.

I really wanted to build the spice rack into the wall but the only place I can do it is in a load bearing wall meaning I can't move a stud and there is wiring throughout the wall as well. Things a person should think of when they are building..but I agree building it myself means I can fit it into the space.

Get some rest Carol..

Wednesdays do seem to be a long one Tina...waiting on a call, then outside I go. Even got my new Winter work gloves out and ready thumbup

I did get a 3 hr nap, Sunny---I think I may make it to bedtime tonight. :)

about your spice rack, Sunny---I don't guess you could make it look like a framed 3-D picture & then hang it "on" the wall in an appropriate place??? ((just me thinking outloud))

I hate the empty space in interior walls being so wasted. Lots of nooks and crannies can be hidden in those.
I am about ready to head to Harbor Freight before I go to pick up my son from school. I want bungee cords in assorted sizes and they have the best selections. And it is just fun to cruise through to see what else they may have.

OH!! It must be so cool being close to an actual Harbor Freight real store, instead of the catalog.

It is actually very nice. But the catalog has some advantages too. The stores are crammed full and not in the best orderly manner. So you have to really search for your needs sometimes. And there are few people able to help out. But they do have some wonderful sidewalk sales every couple of months or so. Great prices on toys for handy girls and boys. Today, there was one pleasant old man that was impressed with my selection and the fact that I mostly do it myself. It was a fun trip.
I am home for the day. I will nap, I think, then go out and finish up my pole saw work. I am making french toast tonight for Ted's dinner and some for the freezer for other days.

A chain of discount tool retail stores. Stuff is inexpensive and sometimes quality lacks. But if you only need power tools for a couple times a year, it is hard to beat. And lots of small hardware items for often less than Home Depot or Lowe's, etc. If I want tarps or other small items, I look there first when I have time.
That reminds me, I wanted to look at their tarps today and totally forgot.
I napped and fixed dinner. I put my tools away from my work today. I piled up a lot of the larger branches out on the road for removal but I still have some raking to do to complete the job. That will be tomorrow.

I didn't know Harbor Freight actually HAD real stores. I thought it was just mail order. I guess that's what living in eastern Kentucky does to you...you have no idea what's out there in the "real world". lol

I know I said this before, but this time I am really fed up...with my hair.
It is getting whacked off in a few minutes.

Tina, we don't have Home Depot or Lowes here either. Glad you can get things for cheap..and honestly even the expensive tools don't last more than a couple of years. Which reminds me..I still didn't get a hand sander rspb

Cleaning out the garage/shed today..wish me luck lol

I got Ted to school and stopped at a couple of stores. Something not nice must have happened on the freeways today because people were getting off and heading into town on my side roads. That is OK because I was heading out of town. They were not in my path. I had to wait on 3 different trains though. I am home safe and sound and going to zip through some french toast for the freezer that I didn't get to the other day. As soon as I snack on something.

So nice to see you, G-mom!
Good morning. It is blustery here. Big winds. So far no downed trees but I have to wait until daylight to see if there are many branches.
In my day there are plenty of hours, just need the have the energy levels to match. I do something, take a break to recoup. Do another something, recoup, etc.

Morning....
Woke up early today... was cold.... guess it's time to plug in the elec blanket... we have snow on the ground..and my heater is on... keeping my hot water going today to keep me in nice hot tea too...

I will have boys later today... Carrie got Derek approved for a home teacher to come do school with him... it will be happening here since he will be here anyway on the days she works... and I have my office I can give them to use... will be so good for him to get back to the routine of learning every day... may be a week or so before it actually happens- the teacher who is also a counseler is doing counseling at the school little Jessica went to to help the kids and faculty there... hopefully she is a good fit for Derek... not to many teachers have the ability to cope with his disabilities... he has been so very happy lately ... the meds are helping a whole lot..we are trying to find a group therapy group we can get him to also.. doc is afraid he is developing phobias too so we have to stop that from happening ... he hates to leave the house now.. will come here and thats about it...

I am going to make chili today and a couple meatloaves for the freezer... cornbread too to go with the chili... just sounds good to me for today...

Well off to get busy cleaning my kitchen.... then start cooking ..
Nana

A home teacher for Derek will be good for a while, Nana. May I ask how old he is?

That is a tough age for any child, much less one with special needs. I am so glad that Carrie is on top of those needs. But he will need to be encouraged to go out and about and to socialize in whatever he can do. No need to feed too many of the phobias. I am glad he is getting into counseling.
Life changes whether we want it too or not. I allow for a lot of comforting scheduling for Teddy. But also shake it up with some new experiences once in a while. Nothing drastic, but he needs some flexibility in his life too. So, although he prefers to be at home or at school, he can travel pretty well or go camping and things too.
