Hostess went bankrupt. The last 'real' Twinkies were made last night...

No loss there, Pure poison. If you are going to eat sweets, MAke home made. At least the ingredients are real. And they wont pull them out of a time capsule in 200 years and find them totally intact!

LOL! just got back from grocery store.... and saw a lady buying about 10 boxes of twinkies....
I think I got everything I need for the big dinner ... and the rest of the week too... it's all put away and now I have to get ready for the boys invasion... still need to go to a store and try to find a shelf for my kitchen... have one but need another one to put stuff on and free up some counter space.

Well off to see what else I can do ......

I don't buy much Hostess products. If I get a sweet tooth going, I like my local store bakery. They don't use nasty stuff like high fructose corn syrup and preservatives. I bake a lot to add warmth to my home and to share.

I hate this time change...my clocks won't be right until spring. I don't change them. I was over an hour early for a dr appointment the other day....

Cindy you do know that NOW is the real time.. summer is the artificial Daylight savings time. I get mad in the spring when they change. I wish they would leave nature alone, Like Indiana and Arizona.

This afternoon three of us are getting our hair cut for the wedding, ME? I'm nervous,, it took me a long time to grow my hair this long, it's past the middle of my back , but I figure it's too long to make an "UP DO" style for the wedding, I'm thinking about 4 to 5 or 6 inches taken off with long layers?

Diane, you have nice thick hair...you can rock the layers.

I never thought of something like that before! Some people can think of so much cooler stuff than me.

2 clocks in my house are on the right time, and 3 are on the wrong time. In the spring 3 will be right and 2 will be wrong. I never change my clocks. I must have gotten drunk and changed 2 of them last year...one has "Lola Time" written on it in Magic Marker.

I'm so excited. I got my big stove cleaned out today. I usually pop the stack together like Tinker Toys. Last year my son went wild with the roofing tar and pretty much glued it together so I couldn't just lift the stack and move it aside. I made him go up and undo his glue job today and got it cleaned up. The innards of my stove can breathe properly now and burn a much safer fire. I was worried and very right to be so. I hauled out a bucket of creosote from inside the guts of my stove.
Now I am ready for cold weather.
Bedding is in the wash. I am humming along today.

Nay Nay,, I have never had thick hair in my life My Hair is very Thin, I just take care of it and keep it moisturized and ends trimmed to keep it healthy so it makes look thicker than it is. True Fact. The stylist today wanted me to cut it really short with layers so I could have some volume to it, because it's so thin,, NO WAY,, was I going short again, I worked hard for 12 long years to get it this long without it breaking off cuz it's so thin and fine. I think she cut off about 5 inches in length. I'm okay with it, it has long layers so at least it will hold curl for almost 2 hours now as opposed to 30 minutes now

I cut about 8 inches off mine awhile back, and seeing yours make me want to cut more off.


Tina, I so remember cleaning chimneys, taking those pipes down, etc. We had wood and coal burners at the farm and were diligent about keeping them clean and in good working order. I used to love splitting the wood for the fireplaces...every morning and evening I would split wood, summer and winter. Kept me fit and the wood warmed me twice in the winter...when I was splitting it and again when I was burning it.

So weird that the open fireplace in the kitchen was a place where everyone would stand in front of as soon as they walked in the house...even in the summer.

Any time people come to my house for we always sit in the kitchen, or with in a few short minutes we end up in there. Maybe because it's the heart of the home,, or they are just hungry and want me to cook and I don't have a fire place in there never have,... Just an oven

My brother used to come to the house in the summer...and back up to the fireplace in the kitchen like there was a fire in it...and the house was hot as hell because we had no air conditioning. He's a little "off" like me......

I have a couple of gas wood splitters now. I have split my fair share in the past though. It warms you several times in the collecting, cutting, splitting stacking and hauling into the house. I actually enjoy cleaning my stacks and stoves out.

I live in Michigan and we never use ours, Mostly because I HATE the smell. Weird I know.
Hair length... Angel I had long hair my whole life. I turned 50 and got a good look in the mirror one day and MY GOD people are right, it makes you look old after a certain age. Well it did me, so off it went. I went super short about a year ago and LOVE it. No muss no fuss, Never have to do a thing but maybe put a little styling product in it after a shower. I do not miss it. :)
Well it's monday, and supposed to be very nice again, so more yard work for me.
I cut up some dead trees that had fallen over at the edge of the woods. Smaller pine trees, So I used the hand saw. Yeah, I'm weird like that.
At this rate I may have all my beds cleaned up before spring!

I do live in SoCal, Kim. But it does get cold here. Not as cold as Michigan. But cold is relative. My grandparents moved here from Chicago. They talked about sitting on their front porch in, maybe, a light sweater and watching neighbors walk by in heavy parkas. They did not understand why for the first couple of years. Then they acclimatized and ended up in parkas as well.
I can drive less than half an hour to the nearest ski resorts that are open for business but it is 50* outside my back door. It is only 60* here inside my den. I guess it depends on what you are used to.
Today I will take both my son's out shopping for a few things. And I need to go to the bank. Then it will be a cleaning and cooking kind of day built around a nap.

Was up early to get my meds in before my real day starts... going to have 4 kids her today... and have to put away the 10lbs of ground turkey I cooked yesterday... that will be after I do pancakes for breakfast for the kids... hopefully it is warm enough for them to play outside and get the baby good and tired for a long nap so I can clean some while she does...

Not much else going on , still waiting on the company to decide they better not force union to go out... really hope they don't go out... would like to get thru Christmas ......

Well off to get my breakfast , rest of meds, shower and make up some pancakes for the kidlets...
can do that in 45 min I think! LOL!
