My daughter that got married last November is Buying my Aunt and Uncles House ( my mothers sister's home) I believe there is 3 acres?, a Woodshop ( My uncle is a carpenter)and so is Ambroja's husband. She was never good with house plants tho she tried over and over again. But now she is determined to learn, to have gardens, fruit trees chickens and a couple of cows. My uncle has guided her ( he is 80 so he can't do much but talk and guide) She has learned to Till, sow, fertilize, and harvest,, I'm so very proud of her! Here is some pictures of her achievements! The building in the background is the Wood shop ![[Linked Image]](http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e374/2thtek/garden_zps13dba192.jpg) Here is her first Picks of the season,, ![[Linked Image]](http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e374/2thtek/firstpicking_zps4ee95425.jpg) More below,, v

She also has established peach trees on the property She has some church kids over Sunday after noon, and they were playing on the teeter toter my Grandfather made over 60 years ago,, I played on it as a child in my own yard, amazing it lasted that long. My Uncle of course has had to place new seats and center board thru out the years, But man did they make things to last years ago( my grandfather worked for The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in the 'welding shops" He heated those iron pipes and "rolled/bent" them him self and welded the entire thing together. Must have been in the early 1950's if not sooner than that. ![[Linked Image]](http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e374/2thtek/teetertater_zpsc3bec86a.jpg) There is also a Storm shelter underground, My aunt and uncle cemented wall and floors and embedded shelves in the concrete and stores canned foods there, She is also learning to can fruits and veggies and make sauces and jellies> to can and keep. Never EVER thought I'd see her EVER having a life as a country girl, I LOVE IT! Look at all the land she has to play with and can't even see it all from the picture,, I told her the only way I would move back to KS is if she builds me a one bedroom home on her property far away from the main house,

What are those large plants in the ground in the picture with the building? Cabbages?

That's great Diane. I'm happy for here. Always wished I had lived on a farm. Looks like she's going to have a good life.

That is a beautiful set up, Diane. You must be so happy for her and her family. All of them, esp the kids, will be so much better off, and happier, for living there.-- We raised the kids on 5 acres that at one time belonged to my husband's Great Aunt, and I miss it so very much. Our girls (and well all of us) loved it to pieces. To this day the girl's husbands have to cover their eyes when we all ride by--- one should never live near their old home-- - again, so very happy for them..

How nice to buy an established farm, especially that's been in the family...a little history there. I'm glad they have the storm shelter...that (to me) would be a big plus living in KS.
