Diane and Jimmy said I could get seeds from my hibiscus. So...here is the picture of the Hibiscus.... ![[Linked Image]](http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/gardenhelper/flowers/007-1.jpg) ...and here is the picture of the place where the old bloom dropped off. ![[Linked Image]](http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/gardenhelper/flowers/002.jpg) Now what do I do? Where will the seed be? In that big place in the middle?

yes wait for it to turn brown and dry - shrivel up and inside a seeds forms. don't take it off the stem until when you wiggle it you can hear the seeds shaking inside, BTW Put me on the list for some of those seeds, from the looks of your picture you're gonna have plenty of seeds to go around usually there is 5-10 in a pod

That bush is right outside my front door where the dog stays, I've never seen any birds on it. I don't know about covering them up...I'm pretty sure the dog across the road would try to tear the bags off. He takes everything that isn't nailed down. (But I love him)

if you haven't seen birds around it I wouldn't worry about it, it doesn't take long for them to dry up and turn brown, just be sure to flick them with your finger to hear the seeds before you pull them off.

A lot of people use cut stockings to wrap around seed pods, allowing the sun and air to get in, but the seeds don't fall. I did this the one year I grew datura and wanted to save the seeds.

that's a good idea Lynne especially if your not able to keep an eye on it day after day,, especially good with datura's cuz they crack open and the seeds fall out!

When I go to the pharmacy Monday I will run in the Dollar Tree and see if they have hose...I doubt if I have any, but will look in all the drawers in Lola's room and see. The first sign of a bird near my hibiscus and I will cover the pods up. Since it's right outside the door and there is always activity at the door, I doubt that birds will bother it. Plus I will be checking it all the time.
