Coffee is on, frost this morning..it's a whole 39 degrees F out there. I am so glad that I harvested my cukes again last night...making pickles once more this morning. Sheri: I am working in Homecare once again. There is such a demand here it is unbelievable...I only took 3 days to start because I have my grandbaby 3 days also. On my first day, I was offered a 60 hr work week...uhm, no thanks. Tina I have to make a list to remember to look at my list My gosh, I find my mind is slipping lately...too much on it I guess. Hoping my cold weather finds you as well. Hoping everyone has a good day...I need to cut my grass later, probably will have to wear my Winter coat to do it.

Well, I'm going to the ironing board now and start pressing all the strips I've sewn together for a quilt top then I will start sewing all the strips together...that will be my day today.

Wow Sunny.. I can't believe frost already for you,, so sorry to hear that, my goodness and 60 hours a week offer, good grief do they really expect people to work that many hours?? You're doing right easing back into it, gives you time out side the house for a couple of days, and still have plenty of time for grandbaby

Good morning. Please keep your frosts, Sunny. Although I don't like it too hot, I dislike the cold even more. I am not ready for it. With our hotter weather the humidity is dropping. That also makes it more bearable. I am ready for my day to begin. And glad it is a short week.

Good morning ladies; I'm finding myself still trying to wake up lol; didn't get to sleep till about 3 and had to get up at 6 so it feels like I'm running on empty. I'd normally take a nap while Trey is at school but I'm waiting around for the contractors (I've been told that they're waiting on the delivery of the manner stones for my retaining walls but I've got enough work for them to do you'd think that they'd have actually been here to do other things this week); I'm hoping they'll be here and working soon (I've waited all summer for my back yard project after all).
I hope you all have a good day :).

Thanks :)... 3 retaining walls is just too much work for me to do by hand; guess sometimes one just needs outside help lol. I've been waiting all summer for the last contractor to shape up but I guess it just wasn't in the cards to use them, so we've been interviewing other people for the last month and decided on the company that's here now; the staff are pretty nice and accommodate my billions of questions and requests lol.

Depends on the show Dodge, some of the shows have guests that are on a budget and the show will build, or change things in their home with only their budget, while other shows have people selected for make overs in their homes. You can get on the internet and there will be a list of shows asking for contestants to chose from and why you feel you need it more than another contestant. Some times the show pays for everything, if they find you at say Home depot or lowes. Sometimes they just hang out at those stores looking for someone to surprise with a yard or Room make over at no cost to the homeowner,

Today at work we had to start sending people home,, I even left early, but I got almost7 hours in. As part of the supers, I had to tell three people to leave at noon. It's very difficult to do that knowing they are the money maker in their families. But it does beat the alternative and getting laid off. I first checked with HR to see who still had vacation time left so they could at least be covered with hours lost by being sent home. Only two of the three had a few hours left, so I sent them home first, and let the last one stay as long as I could let him. MAN that was so hard to do.

James, when will you be posting pictures? We started putting Carolina rose stone around the bottom of our house and building a retaining wall 2 years ago. We ran out of stone and had to wait until the quarry hit the correct color again. There were times that the color was close but I was worried it would be noticeable so we waited a little over 2 years. It was finished Tuesday.

It's the labor that costs so much and I think on all those shows the labor is free or a lot cheaper than we would have to pay. I would love to get on one of those shows.
Diane, do you work at a dental lab? That's so horrible to have to do that. I feel bad for you and for them.

Yes I work at a Dental Lab, I have been a Lab technician for almost 30 years. Patients aren't going to Dentist, so we don't get any work, economy is horrible, people are dropping their Dental insurance, and just not willing or can't afford to pay full out of pocket.Dental work cost is thru the roof, there is no regulation for Dentist charging their patients. We may make a partial for say, lab cost to the Dr $138 and the dentist will charge the patient somewhere in the ball park of $400- $500 Some of our Dentists are laying off or just staying open 3 days a week now.

I can imagine that people are dropping their dental insurance. It's usually not that expensive but when it comes to eating or having your teeth cleaned.....My mother was a hygienist, and I have a niece who is a hygienist, and a nephew who has a dental practice in Asheville, NC. I haven't heard how business is doing lately.

well as usual a 4 day work week feels like a 5 day after a 3 day weekend glad tomorrow is Friday,, BTW Tre's tennis matches lasted til almost 7 pm the other day, that was almost 5 hours of playing in the heat, his tennis class is at 1:50 to 2:50 and right after that they went to another school for the competition matches, that was a long time to be outside in this heat, but he's a tiger and made it thru it! He lost his matches towards the end he just gave up he was too hot, and too tired,, But at least the other school provided water for all the kids, Kudo's to them!

It is to be 108* today. But the humidity is down a bit so that is a blessing. I stopped to shop for the weekend after I dropped Ted at school. I put a potroast in the crock with onions and carrots. I will add taters and mushrooms later. I won't be going out on Saturday at all. There is a concert up the road that will block up traffic all day. I wouldn't attend anything all day long in this heat.
