Had the contractors remove an old tree and hang some trellis' up on the new fence the neighbor had installed a couple of months ago; everything is coming along very nicely. They say that their concrete guys are on another job and they'll have to take a couple of days off, but I can wait on my patio a little bit so long as everything else gets done (plus we keep having them do a bunch of additional stuff too; we went flower shopping again, figure since their bid included 6 hours of additional time, may as well use it). We went to Lowes and looked at sheds last night and found a 10x12' one that we're probably going to get, so we're deciding if we want another pad or compacted gravel for that; but it should end up looking nice none the less.

sounding good !!
A bit of advice---get as big a shed as you can afford or will fit. I have found that no matter waht size you get bigger would have been better. The bigger the shed the easier to get at what is stored in it.

The bigger the shed the easier to get at what is stored in it. Good advice. I have 4 sheds stuffed full. And a gazebo and two 8 cord woodsheds. One has wood, the other is collecting other things.

That's what we where thinking Dodge; we're probably going to go with a 10x12' shed that is about 15' tall that has a loft area, then I plan to extend the loft once it's installed for additional storage...
At least then I'll have a space for all of my gardening supplies and my holiday decorations lol.

I'll take one of those new sheds also please We have been meaning to build a small garden shed but there's always somewhere else to put the money. As a matter of fact, my deep freeze is on it's last so that's this weeks 'money adventure'. On another sad note, the cattle buyer is coming tonight for my cows. We are officially done, the weather has been awful the past years and we have lost all our hay. I plan to keep my horses as they are pets but farming is on it's last here. Two corn farmers and one dairy quit this year as well. Such a sad loss for our area. Pouring rain out there again today....we did have a nice day yesterday though, my yard looks great after a full days work.

Sorry to hear that of you .. Actually I quit farming also, but have my land leased to another farmer . A good guy. Sold all equipment but the tractors. I just play in the huge yard an garden.
Here there are too many restrictions to farming. Organic organic an people crazy enough to fall for it all.

I have not been able to get on the Internet for DAYS! Finally a man came out and worked on it at the pole out front. Thank goodness!!! Dodge, the picture of your tie-die morning glory is so beautiful !! Can I buy that in seed packets or online? I can show pictures of my quilts if I ever get my camera fixed or a new one....which I have no idea when!

Good morning. I am sorry,Sunny. I understand you will miss your cows. But I'm glad your yard is looking spiffy in the rain today. The week is half over. I spent much of yesterday trying to convince myself that it was not Friday. I don't know why.

Good Morning. Sliced banana w/ cinnamon here..& a coffee chaser. Sunny: A shed--yes, I so wish my DH had of made a larger one. we have a 16 by 12. (he was going to get a 10 x 12 but I won). well it is big ehough to hold our stuff--and there is a loft, but unless I take out the lawn tractor & some other stuff.. I cannot get to MY larger gardening items to use them. so my lawn sweeper & my garden cart just stay where they are. Plus while I used to keep my hand held sweeper/vacuum in the basement, he put it out in my lawn cart so I rarely use it anymore either----Thank goodness I have a bench in the garage for my everyday gardening items. It is a sad thing about your cattle. but it wil be less work for you as well. So there is that positive. Sorry about the rain, but hey, at least your yard looks good for now-- Dodge: Well sorry you do not farm any longer, but you can be happy that you are still living on your farm. I miss ours so much. It must be a comforting site to get up & look out into the fields every day. Shirley: So glad to see you---and that is great they came & fixed your internet. I hate when that happens. I hope it stays fixed for a long time.. Tina: I do so hate when days get mixed up-----soon it will be friday & then perhaps your mind will be happy & all will go back to normal. Today I am going to do my MIL's pills & also her book work.. Then I should be home. Catch you all later--

Munching on fried rice and fruit for my dinner. I could almost live on this stuff. It is a very good thing that it is cheap.

I thought I had posted it somewhere. I don't really use a recipe with measurements. It is rice fried up with veggies cut about pea-sized. Any vegetables, but always peas and carrots with some onion. Then scrambled eggs chopped up in. I like to add some broth to that and I don't always exactly 'fry' mine so much as just heat cooked rice in a bit of broth that the veggies are stirred in to cook first. Sweet dreams all.

I am glad I checked on the weekend events at the amphitheater up my road. There is 2 days of events beginning tomorrow. That means I hunker down and don't leave my house for much of anything. I am not a fan of fighting the traffic, foot and vehicle. So I shopped for the weekend needs today and Ted will not be attending school tomorrow. I have chicken cooking with onions, celery and carrots for something tonight. Thinking some for chicken and dumplings. There is enough to make several meals, either all eaten at once over a couple days or some frozen for the future. I love to cook and am glad for the nicer weather so i can start again.

Hi all, I have been running for past few days seems like... Nana's Taxi and today we all went to docs apt for Timothy- was a ways from house and pouring rain so Carrie wanted Joe to drive... parts of our area got over 8 inches of rain last night- lots of flooding going on and 3 people missing presumed dead in this mess... we may do it all over again tonit... it has cooled off down to 70s too.. Timba had blood tests and and ultrasound yesterday.. today was an upper gi... hopefully something will show up on these tests... kid is miserable ...
Derek is doing okay so far with school.. has some problems but is going to school and does well most of time... Nicoli is doing well too... is enjoying second grade the second time around ... some of it is maturity and some he just remembers from last yr...
We thought we had found a car for Joseph to buy - but we had it checked out and it would take about 1200 bucks to make it driveable so not such a good deal... we will keep looking....
I just unpacked my vinegar from Sams and only 1 gal was in the sealed box... so Joe is now taking it back... I can get twice as much there for the price but really want to get what I paid for... hate having to go back to correct others mistakes.... I use it for so many things now...
I just heard from my son- he is stuck at work and the way home is flooded.. hopefully he can find and alternate route home... places close to his house are flooded too ... hopefully they won't get much more of this rain tonit.. and the creek close to the house doesn't go over the banks...
Well off to go put my sewing stuff away... my great granddaughter may be born soon, she is 39 weeks tomorrow... still can't believe I will be a great grandmother soon.....
Have a good day all..! Nana

I have been watching the Co flooding on the news, Nana. And wondered if you were in the middle of it all. Keep safe there.

We are watching it too.. was on fb chat with my dil - trying to keep her calm till my son got home- he hit lots of roadblocks but finally found a way thru and got there... took him 3 hours to get home... usually takes half and hour in heavy traffic.. hoping they don't get evac but they might... rain is still comeing down like crazy up there... her Mom is on oxygen and with the twins they are on the list as one of the first to be helped...
We got rain but not as much as up there... and we are up higher here too so pretty safe here where I live.

Whew----such bad weather that Nana, Dodge, & Sunny are having----I do so hope that you all keep safe.
Dodge: Yes Sister's are great--I am so lucky to have mine--we help each other when it is needed & sometimes just for fun. I have 1 sister & 1 brother. BUT I do also have a cousin that is as close as a sister. So I am not alone.
I am so glad that you have your cell phone. It would not be fun to be stranded.
Tina: So lgad that yoi uare prepared to stay home. sounds as if that is the best place to be for yoiu right now with all that is going on.
Nana: So sorry for the rain---rain is good, but not when there is too much. I hope they find out what is wrong with Timba--& soon !!! So glad to hear that Dereek & Nicoli are doing better now a days. I hope it keeps up.. AND I am so glad to hear that yoiur son made it safely home. I am sjure his family was happy to see them. Better to be together than to be apart for sure.
Tomorrow I am watching my grandson...While I wil be gone all day, IF he takes a nap (he is sick with a cold so I don't know if he will) I will get on my DD's ipad & come see ya'all.

Good morning. We are to have a hot few days But the humidity is down and my coolers work well. I am still watching Nana's storms on the news.

Sad part of working parents.. So happy my DIL doesn't go to work. Her kids cherish her so much.. I do too.
b :ding: Yep I agree about the working parents thing. While I wish for rod & I, I had of kept my job, I loved being home with my girls. My youngest (grandson's mom) only teaches part time---3 days one week & 2 the next. So it is not so bad. My kids are lucky. The boys do have jobs that would allow my girls to stay home..but EMily is working towards a regular teaching degree, and my oldest DD is working b/c one day my S-I-L plans on going into farming full time & they will need her to work so they can have insurance. (Luckily she too is teaching so no working weekends, holidays or nights. ) Plus they both have summers off. Sad thing is in a lot of families there is no choice. Both must work to make ends meet. Grandson is sleeping & has been for almost 2 hours. Poor baby has a cold... But thank goodness for visual monitors. Sorry for the heat Tina. We are to be in the 70's for a few days...:)

70's is good, Carol. I am hoping that Nana will pop in soon. Or sometime today with an update. I will keep on checking until she does.
