Are your Christmas an thanksgiving cactus in Bud??
Mine are loaded with buds..

Just went downstairs and checked and I don't have any buds. Should I move it to a sunny window?

No Barb, mine are not---they are all green & healthy (even the 2 I had outside this summer) but no buds...where do you keep yours again ??
are in the dinette area by a west facing window (glass sliding doors) and said window has a heat blocking film on it.--some of the cactus get basically direct light from these doors---& some get filtered as they are off to the side...sadly I really have no ther window to put them by...and yes I have other windows, just not situated so as to put plants close-by.

Gosh girls .Mine weren't in direct sun . Settin on a shelf out of direct light.
I am thinkin Gold snaps help them. In unheated room.. Have a New tiny one already in bloom an didn't know it .

About the cold snap---I think I will put them in our spare bedroom when my in-laws leave, Barb---We do not heat it as a general rule, so it is =generally cooler in there...or there is the basement, but I am afraid I will forget to water them if I put them there--but thanks for the reminder.....

I'm going to put mine back where it bloomed last year.

Why did you move it?

I moved it to a darker cooler place after it bloomed last year.

yep I bet they are. I said that I will put the cactus in my spare room where it is much cooler & there is less light--so we will see if it works that way.

I put mine outside on the grill under a tree a few months ago....it has many buds on it! Brought it inside today because we are going to have 30's this week.

I have a friend who has hers in direct light & hers is covered in buds. Sol, I am putting half of mine in the dark cool room & halk in here with a east facing window, that does NOT have heat film on it, so we shall see wahuich works best for me.

Cindy: I had 2 plants out on my roofed porch this summer.. for the first few both plants looked like they were going to die. Then in the last month they were out they both began to grow new pads. I had brought them in last week, we will see what happens with them now.

What color Cindy?

Thanks Dodge: I only put 2 of my many plants outside this summer-----I thought it would be a good experiment. So now we shall see....

So how long should I keep my cactus in the cold room, Barb ?? Until they have buds ????

That's what I did.. I had a new start of one an that bugger bloomed also.
I gave it to the goodwill last week.. the man looked at me so crazy.. I said sell it fast its live..
Only had one or 2 stems an 3 blossoms on it?????

Heres the red an orange c cactus today.. White will follow.

Heres white with pink centers. Not as bloomful as the other.
Still nice.

They are so cool to see.. Just when things get slow outside they pop out.

I did give away all the extras.. They don't like lot of water or space is all I can say.

yes, I thought so about the water room in a pot--I figure when they are root bound a bit, I will have better luck ??

So now what? I think it's stopped blooming. Should I move it, water it less, or what? How can I get it fuller for next year?

Yea barb--inquiring minds wanna know--
Should I repot my cactus so I have more in a pot so as to crowd them ?/ should we be moving these at different times of the year?? I have several different colors of cactus plus a collective pot of cuttings that I recieved from you and from Lynne. (Red & White I believe)

I want mine to look full like dodge's.

and mine has bloomed a total of ONE time & then only 2 blooms. My pink one bloomed the year I put it down in the basement for a few months & then brought it up. I dont like to do that though as I tend to forget to care for them when they are down there...

I would LOVE to see my tangerine one bloom...
