Howdy, Cheryl. Thanks for the new coffee house. I need my coffee today. I did go out to the one store I wanted to visit today. It was not yet opened. The workers were waiting outside for the owner to get there late. So I went to a grocery store to kill time and $20. I went back to the store and not open still. My daughter brought my older son home last night. They both woke up sick today. I will not be doing anything much special tomorrow. I will pig out on pumpkin pie alone, I guess.

I don't have my family to celebrate with anymore so I'm going to go and hang out at my mom's house. I figure that's better than staying home alone and feeling sorry for myself. My depression is already bad enough at the moment.

Very well said, Dodge. Nana, glad to hear you are just sore today. Not that being sore is a good thing but at least you are not so bad tyhat you KNOW that you need to go to the Dr. Tonight I have pies & a cheese ball to make. I am so not wanting to do this as I am way tired---but I guess I will do it anyway-- .

Believe me I am glad I am not bad enough for doc too... have enough trouble with my back without doing something bad to it... more sore tonit- baked 4 pies.. made the cranberry sauce. made sure turkey was defrosted ... made the broth for the stuffing and gravy and defatted it... made 15 lbs of mashed taters, put together the yams and green bean casserole.. and the cauliflower gratin... will do the rolls tomorrow early.. and the gravy... we will eat about 6 so have most of day to finish up cooking- still wish I had my double oven I had in AZ... made doing this so much cooking so much easier.
My oldest is coming over early to help finish up the cooking and getting ready.. going to go take a nice hot bath and hit my pillows... take some more motrin and get up early...
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Good evening. I have no cooking to do tonight or tomorrow. We will have KFC tomorrow. I have it home here with me tonight. It will be heat and eat. And will be easy clean up too.

WOW Nana & I thought I had it bad---You sure got a lot done today. And again, glad you are feeling better...or at least not so bad..Hopefully now that you have so much done, you can take it a bit easier tomorrow. I made 2 pumpkin pies, and then a pecan pie. Well, I messed up the pecan & for home it would be fine, but as I am taking it to my DD's for tomorrow, I have anohter one in the oven as I type. I am watching it VERY closly. Then I made a Cheese Ball that will get formed & rolled in pecans tomorrow morning. I have to wait until we get to Emily's before I do the potatoes, green bean casserole & I will be in charge of the gravy, but again I will make that there when the turkey is done. Tina sorry there are sick ones at your house--(I understood that right didnt I) ---I hope that you and Teddy do not get it...If you all were sick, who would take care of you all?? I hope everyone's Thanksgiving is wonderful--and "relaxing" as well.

Yes, my two older children are here sick with colds. Teddy appears sniffly too. My kids are blaming me for spreading my cold. But mine has been over too long, I think. And it was just in my head. Those two kids are coughing already. Seems like a different disease to me. I am finally heading to bed. I have been sitting here zoning for hours without accomplishing much at all. Sweet dreams everyone.

Good morning everyone. I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep so I guess I'm up for the day. I was up late last night and was hoping for more sleep but I guess my body thinks it's had enough. Sunny, stay safe out there. Tina, sorry you have sick ones. Hopefully it'll pass quickly.

I am glad you are safely in, Sunny. Has the weather and roads improved from this morning? I am not eating turkey today. I am eating chicken. It is as good as my memory told me it was.

Sunny, so glad that you got home safe & sound
We had turkey--One in a NuWave & 1 in a smoker.
Emily was at a local chain grocery store last week & the stupid clerk would not let her buy her frozen turkey (at all) because she had not spent $50.00 (the amount you had to spend to get the turkey's for 77 cents a pound instead of a higher price)--stupid girl....
Outside It was cold but bearable at my daughter's. Thankfully she keeps her house warmer b/c of my Grandson.
I am so tired, but I need to stay up to let the dog out in a while--then I can get to bed..."Momma" is tired...

And I am glad you are home safely too, Carol. It has been a good day. A long day but good. I will be bedding down in a bit. I did purchase an online black Friday thing today. I will be looking for boxes probably in a couple of weeks.

Online Black Friday shopping? that's the smartest way to go Tina. Turkey's for .77 cents a pound ...I'd fill a freezer, they are $3.50 a pound here usually(on sale). Hence why having turkey is a big thing here. The roads have improved..calling for storms again starting Monday though. Oh well, that's what you get for living in Canada. Thanks for all the 'worry' for me though Off to run errands and pick up grandbaby for the weekend

Good morning. I have been checking out the online BF sales this morning. I had something I wanted from one site and it is not working. I think I was not the only one interested. It probably got over crowded. I have visions of people rioting at the door (online ). Oh well, it is basically their loss and more money I can keep in my pocket for now. I do need to Christmas shop. I have little to no inspiration. I am out of ideas and not getting any from my kids as of yet. Laundry day here. I slacked off a bit while we were on vacation.

Well I slept in today- guess I was more tired out than I thought... got up at 10:40, hubby thought I was going to sleep all day... did my bill stuff... and put last load of laundry in - older grandson helped Joe put up house Christmas lights... and bring up all the decorations and tree from basement- it is now siting in my family room... will start putting out stuff tomorrow... we have boys too... and Derek's dog... don't know how late- Jon's program at work has a major bug in it and he is trying to fix it.. so boys will be here till he can come home.. Carrie is closing tonit.. Well I am going to make a supper of leftovers for myself- boys are eating mac and cheese and pizza rolls.. they are turkeyed out... me I love hot turkey and stuffing sandwiches with cranberry... going to make turkey soup out of carcus tomorrow- it will go in freezer for cold winter nights... I LOVE Turkey soup, too Nana....But I so seldom get a carcass, as my DD prefers to host Thanksgiving. I have some raw turkey legs---I may try to make osme soup from them if I ever have a day home.. ( not to worry the turkey is in the freezer.) I can hardly ever sleep in---My Dh gets up early & makes as much nolise as possible, you know, if he is sleeping I should be & if he is awake I should be??/ Tomorrow evening is another Thanksgiving celebration. I will get to see the relatives from MY side of the family.

Good luck getting time to make your turkey soup Carol... it is so good when it is cold... which it is here right now... and nice you get to see your family too... don't have much of mine left and they are in Nevada and Georgia now.. so probably won't see much of them anytime soon...
My hubby is good about not waking me ... I spent yrs getting up before him - 330 am most of the time I was working so I could be home when kids were.. guess he figures I got up early long enough...
Hubby just took boys home so I will be hitting my pillows soon.. still tired and headachy- did finish up laundry and garage towels.. hubby washed his truck today ... it's really cold tonit... we are supposed to get more snow soon too...
Good night all... going to bed and hoping to feel much better in the morning so I can get started decorating...

I hope you wake feeling better, Nana. Enjoy your family time tomorrow, Carol. I have had a pretty good day complete with a nap. But I am still sleepy. I made some fried rice for my dinner. Good stuff. I had pumpkin pie for breakfast.

Good morning all.
I had a wonderful day yesterday, I met with a group of special people in our community. They have started up a 'Haven of Hope' store for mentally and physically challenged people in our area. They make crafts, sell crafts for others and such. The store is beautiful, the gifts are unique and it was such an amazing thing to watch as they ran the store themselves.
Yesterday was truly an eye opening experience for me...

Good morning. Very little beats the feelings of giving, Sunny. And having a community to work with in that is even greater. It is warmer today and no rain. I appreciate the rains though. I have been out pulling random weeds that the rains are encouraging. Today, I have to set up my budget for the coming month and see what we have for gifts and merry making. I want to work on finishing cutting my son's hair. I have been snipping bits all week.

Good afternoon. I did run out and take care of banking needs. I thought it would be much more crowded than it was. Also shopped for the item I couldn't get on Wednesday. Working out my budget to see what is left for Christmas and such. It is a very good day.

Glad you're feeling better Cheryl. An extra day is always nice!!!
We finished up the left overs for dinner tonight. Now to think about Christmas.
I saw a recipe for a cream cheese pound cake I'm thinking of trying.
Went to Hobby Lobby today. Love Hobby Lobby.

We don't have Hobby Lobby here. We do have Michael's and I'm thinking they are pretty much the same thing? We also have a couple of small business hobby shops. Those are fun. I went to a couple of small businesses today. It is small business Saturday.

Oh I love our Hobby Lobby here too- it is huge, was a big box hardware store they took over... we go at least once a month just to look.. and that's where I find the beads for the weighted blankets- they have good coupons too that help a lot... they are much bigger than our Michaels here....
Sheri that pound cake sounds really good... if you make it will you post the receipe please.... sounds like something we would like around here....
I am watching the Lawrence Welk Holiday Special on PBS... brings back lots of memories... life sure was simpler then....
Well got to go strain the bones and such out of my soup broth... and chill it for tomorrow... turkey rice soup for me and the freezer...

IMO, while Hobby Lobby does have the items in it that can be found at Michaels, HL also sells things like material, some decorating things, a few accent pieces of furniture, etc-- so HL is a Michaels & so much more.
Both are VERY nice stores though, I must say.

Sound like I would like to see a Hobby Lobby sometime. Sweet dreams all. It was a long day and I need to get back on school mode.
