Ok for the curious minds.. Here in zone 5 I germinated seeds indoors in a cold room. Hollyocks are the bigger bunch ...Lilys in the smaller bunch.. These Lilys were my own seed I picked this fall an germinated inside.. Hollyhock seeds were given to me this fall..They grew well. They don't bloom till the 2nd year if I am correct.. Ok my theoryis;; you can start perennials in an unheated room indoor in zone 5......Try something . dodge ;o) ![[Linked Image]](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/Racetowom/seedlingdec2013001_zpsff76b42b.jpg)

I wasn't doubting you dodge. My greenhouse, which isn't a real greenhouse, is like a cold room and I grow lettuce in there all winter. I'd just like to watch your Hollyhocks grow until it's time to plant them outside to see how long it takes them to get big enough to plant and if it works out with your planting season. Thanks for posting the pics.

I haven't sprouted any flower seeds out there but I do move my plants that can't take the cold into there. I kept a lot of annuals out there last year and they lasted all summer back outside but the cold got them the other night. I wasn't quick enough on the move.

Sheri those are annuals.. They aren't cold takers. I am suggesting Perennials .. Try some of the lily seeds I sent an see what happens?? Maybe 3 or something.
