Thanks James,
Funny how things come to your mind when your shopping.. I had material at home .
I enjoy sewing . Used to make lots of clothes for son an Hubby.. They would help design them. One day son came from school he needed a hat for his costume of some sort. He said you can make it , an he told me how.LOL Worked.

Thanks gang
The bad part is , girls only get presents in December, birthday an Christmas. The rest of the year is no no. So I am going to get gift cards for both times, and they can go shopping anytime they wan't something badly. Better way I think

She will LOVE that dodge. I can't believe she's already 7.
My Aubry will be 5 the 17th. She's into fingernail polish. I don't have a sewing machine but I'm going to try and find some type of a similar thing to put a few bottles in for her. She'd love it.

Thanks Sheri,
You can sew that up by hand.. Get some felt, an Colorful yarn would be great . Or just thread.
Put any kind of stick ons from the dollar store to decorate. Now who is Auber? Your Husbands grand kids? You show her often, they must live near you/

You can do that in a few years too.
Right now I made up a box for some poor person I will mail it. I am sure it will bring some joy there to her.
I made some chocolate covered peanuts for in the box also.. Surprise she will get .

Sheri--you are a lucky lady, but then you probably know that already. My grandson is around 25 miles away. My grandchild that will be born in April--will be 3 hours away---That makes me sad---but then I think my oldest is happy, and it is a very nice friendly cozy area that she lives in, so I have that.
Sounds like a lovley tradition that you have there, Barb. You and your neighbor are both lucky people. Good for you!!!
I myself will not turn down fudge OR choc covered peanuts--but I prefer Divinity...

Thanks Carol,
I just make whatever I have around.. Yes , the neighbor an I started that when Hubby died.. Both in the same boat.. Only she has no children of her own, Just his kids an grand kids .. Close to her here. She was a former nun.
Its fun to try different food of others.

I used to have neighbors that were friends. Not anymore. I miss it. It's nice to have friends around.
My 2 year old grandson, Colt, is 5 hours away. I hate that. My daughter calls all the time for me to come visit, and I do once in a while, but it's a long way. He'll be here for a week during Christmas. I would like for them to move closer but they both have jobs there.
My mother used to make divinity at Christmas. I don't like it. She also used to make peanut butter fudge that I loved.

My sister told me today that I would NOT become "the other grandma" (you know, the one that is not loved but merely tolerated?) That Valarie would make sure of that.
Sheri--you make me feel better---I don't know what I would do if Valarie lived 5 hours away...You have my sympathies...

No matter what .I am the other granny I live 5 miles away an her mom is like 2 mile away.(She gets all the preference in the grand kids.Cause she used to be a nurses aide.. I just grin an bear it , take what I can get .. Some day god will reward me for my patience an kindness I express.... Says in the bible god blesses those who hold their tongue....More spiritual happenings in that. So be it . Carol wish you man paid better respects to you. You sound so empty in that line. :ding:

Barb, he realizes some days. Just today he said he needs to have more patients & take me more places like he did yesterday, as he knows I love to do things like that. He just truely does not like to shop--window or otherwise. Then he laughed & said "but lunch was good--I should focus on that". Bless you for your kind words--but really it is sad of me to be so vocal about that--I really need to learn how to stop complaining....I got in the habit From my Aunt. She always liked to complain about something, & then forget about it----so I tend to do that a lot--& it is just a bad habit & I need to break.
