Good morning. We went a bit over in the last ch. So I figured I would open the next one all fresh and new.
School is out tomorrow for MLK Jr day. Today I plan on getting some laundry done and clean bedding all around. I will put something in the crockpot for dinner. Not too sure what else yet.

Yipee, a new CH--- party

So far today I have gone to church, visited my MIL, gone out to eat & washed dishes & straightened up the kitchen. When I am done here, I plan on beginning the quilt-- teach

Frozen Pizza is on the menu for supper tonight..But then that should not surprise anyone.

sounds good to me Barb. If it were up to me, I would not have a menu either. I would probably have something in the house that I could "heat & eat" when the mood struck me, OR I would have a pot soup sitting at the ready in the refrigerator.

Trying to make myself begin the embroidery work here....but I am nsot in the mood... why

And that is why I do slightly larger dinners in the crockpot. I have meals for about 3 days; some dinner, some lunch. I can begin with a roast as sliced roast with vegetables the first night. Put it back alone in the crock for shredded bbq sandwiches on eve two. Then soup it with the veggies or something similar for another meal. It really is lazy cooking.
I also cook for the freezer. If I am going to cook something like pancakes, I make more than I need at that meal. The rest goes into the freezer. I love having it in there for quick heat and eat stuff. I also love knowing what is inside it all. I can pronounce all of the ingredients when it isn't prepackaged. And regulate the salt and types of fats better.
Lazy and picky too.
That being said, I think I will nap while that crock is doing all of the work.

That nap was hours ago. I have completed the laundry and other fun stuff since then. Dinner was easy and good. Looking forward to eating again tomorrow.
I am still running scan stuff on my computer. I just think it is old and obese (no remaining room to maneuver). I think I will add more memory. See if that helps. Then an additional hard drive. A friend has been giving me lessons online.

dodge, sometimes I take a nap after church. Sleeping on Sunday seems so much better.

Junie, if I make a pot of vegetable soup we will eat it for at least 2 days. Johnny is such a big eater that sometimes it won't last more than 2 meals. My staple is peanut butter. I eat it all the time.

well as far as soup goes, Rod will eat it for one meal if he must--but under no circumstances will he eat it for 2 meals in a row, so usually I just forget soup when I am figuring out meals....., that or I make it & eat it for my lunches..I LOVE any type of soup---I could live on them.

My DD eats a lot of peanut better as well...but then she does not eat much red meat--she said it tastes & smells funny.. why---BUT if she is over to eat & I make say pork steaks for a meal, she will eat them....so not an actual vegetarian, just anti the taste... why

I am soon off to bed everyone--sweet dreams.

And while you are doing your cold thing, we will be getting into the 80's this week. I am not unhappy. It is saving me on heating costs. But I would so love to see some rain.

Junie, what bookwork? I spent the day at my mothers and came home and made a chocolate cake with my new mixer. Getting ready to make icing. Yum.

Sheri: I am incharge of making sure all of my MIL's bills get paid and that her accounts are balanced. I make all of her Drs appointments, & take her to them. I order all of her medicines & fill her pill case every week. And that is just some of the stuff I do for her. It keeps me hopping for sure.

Well then Tina, you know just where I am. I do not mind it one bit. BUT I do so wish it did not always take me so long. What I assume should take me say an hour always takes me like 3 or 4...But oh well.....I too will get old one day.

Thanks Tina--and I will not get to go to ceramics. first we will have some snow--but then the forcast says will also be bitter cold with the wind chills of between -5 & -10 & gusting winds up to 45 mph. So I will stay home.
Which is good b/c my niece is in the hospital with a blood clot in her lungs & I have offered to be a back up baby sitter for her 2 daughters incase my sister & my BIL want to go to the hospital to be with her. The hospital she is in is saying it is no big deal & they can take care of it there, so she is not being flown out to a larger hospital---but I said I would be back up for in case.

for now though I am going to bed. nite nite snooz

Thanks Tina:

My niece posted on FB this morning, so at least she is not sedated or anything. BUT they could well be keeping her for the week.

As predicted, we have snow & cold cold winds today. I am SO ready for spring to be here---I promise to "try" to not complain about the rainy weather come spring.

Keep yourself warm and safe, Carol. Did you resupply your cupboards? No starvation?
I got Ted to school and stopped to pick up a few items we needed. Fresh bananas and his yogurts, etc. Then went to a drive thru just to check out the prices. Ted is going walking with his class there tomorrow and I wanted to know exactly how much to send with him. He will enjoy that. But he won't enjoy change jangling in his pocket afterwards.
Came home and got my groceries put away. I need to bone some chicken again for a crockpot casserole.

yes I am nice & warm Tina, thanks.

I got a few groceries yesterday--Milk, potatoes, & some food for my DH's work lunches mainly. But I am good, as I have meat in the freezer & canned goods in the pantry.

Sounds like Ted will have a good time tomorrow--that is great

nope not frozen in---it is 14 right now---and is supposed to get up to between 20 & 30 today. Snow flurries at some point also but they may not even reach the ground (?).
Gusts of winds today and significant wind chillls tonight.

I think I will be staying indoors today.

as an update:
My niece is home form the hospital and is on blood thinners. She will have tests down the road to determine why this happened but for now the Drs want to let the blood thinners work.

Prayers for your Great Nephew, Dodge. Do let us know how the surgery goes.

I just tried to put too many potato peelings down my garbage disposal & it is clogged---AND I have no idea what Rod did with the plunger.
NOTE: This is a construction grade disposal & one cannot put much at all down it or this happens. When I get it unclogged, I think I may well stop using it.
After all I did not have one for 25 years & I got by.

Prayers for your little nephew, Dodge.
I got Ted to school and stopped to pick up the things I forgot yesterday. Plus a few things. Realized as I was putting that away That I need bread as well. (sigh). It is OK really because there will be more trips out this week.

Carol, Tina's right, you should try composting those vegetable peels.

dodge, I'll be praying for your grand nephew. His condition might be called holoprosencephaly.

I don't know about your doctors office but Johnny's wants everything to be one online - everything from making an appointment to looking at procedure results. When you call the office number now you're put on hold forever with a recording that says over and over "visit our website at.....". Very aggravating, especially when you're calling from your car.

Last time Johnny saw his doc he told him to make an appointment for March 3rd to review some tests results that should all be back by then and because this particular doc would definitely be in the office that day. A few minutes ago I went online and scheduled an appointment for 3/3/14 at 9:45. When I checked back it said "You have an appointment 2/27/14 at 10:00." I cancelled it and redid it for 3/3/14 at 9:45. When I checked back it said "You have an appointment 2/27/14 at 10:30." (time had changed) So I called and talked to the appointment person. She said it's showing in her system as 3/3/14 at 9:45 and she guesses it's just a glitch in this system since it's new and not to worry. So what are we supposed to do? If I use this system again because I don't want to hang on hold all day, how do I know I have the correct appointment?
