Here us what someone told me to make cactus bloom.
Reduced number of hours of daylight cause them to bloom
Cold temperatures make them bloom
Keeping them on the dry side makes them bloom
Crowded pots make them bloom.
I didn't know that cold temperatures made them bloom.
Makes me wonder how Bestofour got hers to bloom, an not carol.

. I have all along thought they needed to be root bound to bloom, & I got most of mine as small plants or just starts from friends.
The one year I put mine in the basement for a few months, I got 1 bloom. so the darker cooler temps are probably a help
I brought them up early b/c I forgot about them & had no watered them. Plus the light is not the best down there. (I only have 2 of those small rectangular windows in my basement.)

I have 2 plants and neither are root bound. I don't have them in a dark place but my house doesn't get blaring sun so maybe that's why they bloom. The one that was accosted by the vacuum cord and fell over and most of the blooms fell off has more little blooms on it. I'll post a picture when it blooms.
